Great hotel!

from A TripAdvisor Member
Booked the Radisson from the Key Largo Visitor Centre. They didn't have a poolside room so we got a Bay/hi-way facing room which turned out great as the traffic really isn't that bad at all.

Staff from housekeeping to poolside bar were excellent!

Activity Desk concierge was very helpful with attractions and always pointed us in the right directions.

If you don't have a vehicle, Old Town is a bit of a distance but we never had a problem with parking in Old Town and that was during the Lobster Festival.

Room was clean with adequate beds, towels, and AC.

Had never been to Key West before but found it to be the most enjoyable portion of a two-week Florida vacation and would have to problem what-so-ever returning to the Radisson.

Say Hi to Frenchie at the hotel bar, a great embassador for Key West.

Great Stay at the Raddison

from Nessim
We stayed at the Radisson from 7/28-7/30/05. We had a pool-side view. The stay was pleasant, and the staff was helpful. The room was clean, with daily service, the a/c ice cold, and plenty of free parking (95 % of it located at the rear of the hotel). The hotel is located essentially near the junction of the North and South Roosevelt Blvd. roadways in the so-called New Town section. There is a lovely bay which faces the front, but the nearest beach is a mile or so away. There are plently of mini-malls, gas stations, and restaurants minutes away by car. The tourist section of Old Town, including Duvall street is 10 minutes by car.

In summary, I would definitely stay at the Radisson again, although one must realize that you are not within walking distance of the Old Town section. If this doesn't matter then Radisson's location seconds from US 1 North back to the Main Land is perfect. There are plenty of amenities within minutes reach, including a few restaurants within walking distance. The pool is lovely, and there is a fitness center in front of it. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions.

Great nights sleep and stay!!!

from fireguy9
This hotel was a very comfortable stay for our 3 nights. There were no musty smells as others stated, no bugs around our room or anywhere we walked in the hotel at all.We only had to pay $25 in room taxes as the room was a promo for a time share.

Pool is nice and clean, pool bar/restaurant is a bonus with good food and drinks, friendly. Would be a bonus if they had a childrens pool as it can get full with kids splashing around if adults want to lounge in the water.

The room wasn't the biggest, but was clean and tastefully decorated. We asked for a queen bed but they had no more available so we had 2 double beds. A bonus is having a mini fridge in there to stock some beer and other beverages. Housekeeping was great. Request a room facing the pool as the other side of the hotel faces the highway and is noisy. We were on the 3rd floor facing the pool. Attached is some pictures.

Lobby was nice, with newspapers and a pc with high-speed internet available at all times free. Nice lobby bar. Events coordinator was a huge help giving us coupons and books anything you need. We always had 2 for 1 coupons for drinks for about 4 bars in town.

Everybody was friendly and helpful. Has a arcade games room and a fitness room off the pool! This place is great. Will definitely stay here again. The bone island shuttle stops at the hotel for those without a car or scooter. We used a car for the 2 mile drive to the action.

Gives Radisson a Bad Name!!

Hotel was ok, but SERVICE...YIKES!!! I know this is laid-back Key West, but some of the employees were downright RUDE!!! The front desk were nice enough- inexperienced young gilrls- but, were not really equipped to help with customer coplaints. The bartender and self-proclaimed pool bar 'owner' was a pompous a## who threw a 'hissy-fit' when we questioned the bill. To top it off, he added himself a nice 'tip' on my credit card receipt which I will be denying and possibly prosecuting for fraud. We are die-hard Radisson customers, but if they don't get rid of employees like this, we're finding another hotel chain to do business with! (p.s. the bartender allowed people with a Pit Bull to stay poolside for over an hour. The dog was going up to children and putting his face near theirs. There were 3 young men playing frisbee around the perimeter of the pool- they hit a sun-bather and a 2 yr old in the face, yet the 'manager' allowed both things to go on in plain sight of everyone.)

the kids and I loved it!

My family and I stayed at this place for 3 days in Feb. 2005. WE ALL LOVED IT!
Pool is nice and clean, pool bar/restaurant is a bonus with good food and drinks, friendly barkeep. Kids loved getting sodas and lunchlate night snacks by the poolside.
The room wasn't the biggest, but was clean and tastefully decorated. Housekeeping was right on the ball. Request a room facing the pool as the other side of the hotel faces the highway.
Lobby was comfy, with newspapers and a pc with high-speed internet available at all times. lobby bar is cozy and friendly.
Staff was awesome. Everybody was friendly and helpful. From housekeeping to the front desk to the bartenders.
Game room and gym are very nice..... This place is great. Paid $ 168 a night and was worth every penny. Will definitely be going back.

Only negative is that the Denny's connected to the building is an overpriced, unfriendly joke...we will not be going there again.

Stayed at this hotel one night on March 2005. We asked for a room facing the pool since the other side of the hotel is facing the ocean but also a noisy street. The room had a bit of a musty smell to it, and had two small beds. They don't have any rooms with one king bed in this hotel.
The hotel pool is nice and pleasant to sit by.
Our stay was OK but I wouldn't return to this hotel.

Rooms okay, lovely pool.

What I liked:
The pool area was lovely. Included was a pool bar and grill which served delicious drinks. It was all surrounded by luscious tropical vegetation.

The lobby spoke to me of Ernest Hemingway or an old plantation house. The free internet in the lobby was a bonus.

The front desk staff were all nice and some were awesome. We had trouble at checkin and our clerk went above and beyond the call to be sure we were settled in comfortably.

The interior decorating of the room again inspired a southern atmosphere.

The accessibility to the Bone Island shuttle was very convenient.

What I didn't like:
The noise from the traffic on the road in front of the hotel!! Make sure you get a poolside room. The noise from kids who may be shrieking in the pool can't compare with the traffic!

The rooms were fairly small. I stayed 3 nights. I might have gotten claustrophobic if I stayed any longer. There were 3 of us in the room. I don't know how 4 people would manage.

The rooms were generally clean, but the tile floor in the bathroom area needed a good cleaning. I had a shower one night and didn't walk outside the room until the next morning. When I went to put on my shoes, my soles were BLACK!

I might stay in this hotel again if I go back to Key West. It was okay and there isn't a huge selection of hotels on the island.

Awful Front Desk Manager

from localgirl
My husband and I stayed here for the beginning of Fantasy Fest week. (We stayed for the beginning of the week, arriving on a Monday, because rooms are less expensive than if you stay at the end of the week and weekend, when the prices are much higher. ) I made reservations several months in advance and even requested a king size bed at the time and received a written confirmation from Radisson. When we arrived at the front desk, they didn't have a king size bed available for all 3 nights. They only had it available for 1 night, our first. Then, we would have to transfer to a room with a smaller bed. I asked the Front Desk Manager, what then happens to the room with the king size bed that we will stay in the first night?? The manager was rude & defensive and said that a couple made reservations last week and they are paying more than you, and so they will get that room!!!!! I was so angry that he said that. It was unbelievable. We were paying over $169 per night!!! He said since it's Fantasy Fest Week, those willing to pay more will get the rooms they request. I asked him, what is the point of making reservations several months in advance and specifically requesting a king size bed. I explained to him that my husband is 6'4" and we needed a bigger bed. After going back and forth, my husband and I ended up getting the room with the king size bed for all 3 nights. The Front Desk Manager is very unprofessional and talks down at you. Beware if you stay at this hotel...

Awesome Hotel!! I highly recommend this place!!

from lip89
I just returned from a small vacation in Key West and was originally trying to save moeny by staying at a cheap hotel down the street, when I checked out of there in the middle of the night and moved here! What a joy to stay in!! Its situated in a very nice spot right on Roosevelt at the entrance to Key West. It is on the waterfron lagoon and is easy access to downtown by shuttle or taxi. The hotel itself is very modern and has a fridge in every room. The poll is very nice and the bar at poolside is great! Service is very accomodating and helpfull staff make it enjoyable. The price is a bit steep but not for Key West standards! Most places are about 170-275 a night. I would definetly stay here again. The conceirge Andrea, helped us get lined up with the up to date maps and nightlife and any excursion you want to go on. She will hook you up with all the tours and make the arrangements. Very helpfull! Dennys restaurant is located in the lobby and is nice for an early breakfast or late snack! I would tell anyone I knew to stay here. Even though its not directly downtown, its about 2 miles away and is easy in and out. Make a reservation if you are going to the Keys!!

The front desk is also in vacation mode

from A TripAdvisor Member
I think this Radisson is a rip off for the price, location and service they provide. The front desk did not know that you paid the taxes by booking via internet services. To reach a person in the front desk needs atleast 3 calls. The cable TV was out of service when I checked in. I expected them to tell me that the service was out but got a reply that I was rude for telling them about it!! The coffee creamer etc were all dried up. All old stock. No breakfast. Made me wonder - am I the paid guest or unpaid host?

Santa Maria Suites Stay at the Santa Maria Suites - clean, fabulous location, great food and friendly!

Overrated This is the most overrated place that I have ever visited. We had 4 nights here and 1 night would have been more than enough.

Nice beaches Don't stay here too long.
