Top Local Tips for Key West

Scuba diving Dive Key West Inc offered good value diving trips and was just along the road. They also sell a huge range of gear. Apparently the US Navy SeALs from the base down the road buy gear there and I thought that was quite an endorsement.

Key West Golf Club The Key West Golf club is just off the US1 highway before entering the main part of Key West. This is a great 18 hole course anf offers a few challenging holes, including a tricky PAR 3 that is played over mangroves. Hit the green off the tee or loose your ball ! its that simple. Water comes into play on a few holes and the PAR 5's do seem long soe get the big boy off the tee. Green fees are a little steep (165$ plus buggy) but the course is immaculate so as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". They do offer a 2nd round speacil where you need to only pay for the cart fee (22$) which compensates a little.

Restaurants There were very few restaurants in the centre of Key West. Hard Rock cafe is recommended for a basic meal at a reasonable price.
