ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL

My Mom, Aunt, Sister and I stayed at this lovely vacation club resort April 27-29. One word FANTASTIC! This place is wonderful. The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom room was wonderful. Fully equipped with a living room, kitchen, AND washer and dryer! The balcony view was wonderful. What I really like about this hotel is the peacefulness! If you want to stay close to the action and noise this place is not for you. It is so quiet and snuggled away from the action that you can fall asleep as you lounge around the pool. The staff here are wonderful too. They will go far and beyond to make you happy. They are so friendly and willing to help you make your stay a great one. Yes the airport is close, but they stop flying at night and I sat out on the balcony at night and it was TOTALLY quiet. I must say it was very neat to see fighter jets fly over the hotel every 15 minutes or so. It gave me goose bumps. I don't know if they do this regularly or if it was because the Ft. Lauderdale sea and air show was about to happen?? If it is a regular happening, it is awesome. You get your very own fly by every couple of minutes :) And I got a deal for this resort for 161 dollars a night and let me say that it was worth every cent. Also, the bone island shuttle stops right outside the lobby every half hour so for about 5 dollars a day you can have this shuttle pick you up and take you all over the island (as many times as you like for the day) and you don't even have to move your car. I think that this is a steal considering parking is limited when you get near Mallory Square and Duval Street. My family and I were so pleased that we hope to return again soon!

My family visited in the Windward in late March. This place was fantastic! Accomodations were spacious, the pool was incredible, and the view of the ocean from the pool was even better. It is a ways away from downtown, but this worked for us because we didn't want our teens having easy access. We will go again.

Excellent place to stay

February 27th through March 4th my husband and I and two children stayed at the Hyatt Windward. The accomodations were excellent. This is the cleanest place I have ever stayed. It had all the comforts of home.
I would not stay anywhere else after staying there. If you walk in off the street the room is $450.00 per night. By booking on line I received a deal at $259.00 per night. It was well worth it. It had a stackable washer and dryer. My favorite part of the room was the tiled balcony.
It was so nice with wicker furniture. My husband and I spent two hours drinking coffee and enjoying the view. It was so nice. I would highly recommend this place to stay for vacation.

On the other side of Key West from Front Street

This hotel is all that and a bag of chips EXCEPT it is on the other side of the island from the attractions of Key West such as Front St., Mallory Square, and shopping! The reason this hotel is so beautiful & great is because it's new, they want you to buy into it as a timeshare, and it has to be beautiful to attract people to stay there because it lacks location.

I'm guessing that the 2bdrm 2 bath unit was about 1000 sq ft. Well designed and nicely furnished. I wish my kitchen was as nice. Added bonus: washer and dryer and tons of towels -- even big ones that are for the pool. These are timeshares but can be rented out if not sold.
Located on the ocean side, all the unit's big covered open-aired porcheslook eastward. Has big table and extra chairs - very spacious.
The Winward is very near the airport, but it was not a noise factor and the little planes that take off are quite charming. Great pool with many curves and nooks, and a nice-sized outdoor jacuzzi. Another bonus -- no cost for parking although they have some restrictions about oversized RVs. etc. Old Town is about 3 miles south with a real beach en route. The restaurant next door, Martha's is pretty good - expect to pay around $20 for an entre. The Windward was so good, I bought a timeshare and I would never before considered doing this, but the Hyatt is 4-star in value. Very nice staff. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful Resort!

We stayed for three nights and wished it could have been more!!! The rooms were gorgegous and we had a prime oceanview right from our covered deck. The decor and furnishings were top of the line, much better than what you get in a standard hotel. My son loved the luxury of having his own room and having the full kitchen was so convienent, especially since Key West restaurants can be pricey. The pool area was very nice and the property was clean and well kept. The only downsides were no restaurant/bar on the property (but there were 2 right next door) and the airport right nearby. Other reviewers were not bothered by the noise but I found it a bit distracting. However, Key West is so small, its doubtful you could stay anywhere and not hear the planes overhead and since this is my first stay in Key West, I have nothing to compare it to.

We just returned from a five night stay at Windward Pointe and couldn't have been more pleased! This is without a doubt the cleanest resort we have ever seen. As a matter of fact, the staff is constantly bustling about cleaning and polishing all the public areas and the housekeeping in the condos is excellent. The proximity to the tiny Key West airport is a plus, and there is absolutely no noise problem from the small planes. The location on the opposite side of the island from the touristy Duval Street hub-bub makes for a relaxing and refreshing environment - yet, when you want the party scene it's only minutes away via shuttle or car. We will definitely be back...many more times!

Fabulous place!

We just returned from a 4 night stay at this property and it was better than we had hoped...and we were hoping for a lot. The property is well maintained, the rooms are very luxurious with a lot of home-like amenities, and there is a lot to do on site (billiards, ping pong, bbq grills, shuffleboard, pool, spa, etc.). There is a sandy beach about a 1/3 mile walk along the water to the south (not much sand in Key West so this is something most hotels can't offer).

The hotel is right next to the airport but it wasn't ever a problem since the planes don't fly at night.

It was north of all of the tourist activity but easy to get to when you wanted to be there.

We had 9 people in two different units and really enjoyed all of the space in each unit (2 bedrooms, living room, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, all rooms look out on to the ocean). We very impressed and will stay there again when we return to Key West.

We spent eight nights at this resort for our honeymoon and it was better than we ever dreamed. The rooms were equipped with everything that you could possibly need. Plus, the master bathroom was gorgeous!
We loved the huge jetted garden tub.

There was so much to do that there were days when we did not even leave the property. We would definitely go back!

As owners from 2002 our first stay in 5/03 was super. Beautiful views, great accomodations and peaceful. Looking forward to our 5/04 in the Hyatt, Bonita Springs, FL. and 5/05 stay In Hyatt, Puerto Rico.

Top Local Tips for Key West

Busy, Busy, Busy Travel in Key West is odd in that Duval up to Front is where the action is. Parking is a premium and be prepared to pay as unless you are very close (the Hyatt is not) you will need to put the car somewhere. A few of the better dining establishments offer parking, but for the Duval Crawl, nothing free can be found, so find a convenient and overpriced lot and negotiate a reduced stay fee (they usually will deal with you if you flip cash). Then just go walk and see what you want to see. Lock the car, and take valuables, as the lots are pretty seamy.

Try Danger Charters Our family went on the full day snorkeling, sailing, kayak excursion about seven miles from Key West. We were all beginners and had a fabulous time snorkeling. We got to see some amazing sea creatures and were supervised by a wonderful crew. It included a full lunch, snacks, beer, wine, soda, and most important, RELAXATION! We can't wait to go again! Highly recommend it.

Wireless Internet Access If you are willing to pay out the wallet then this place is willing to overcharge you for the pleasure of providing the service. Don't look to their website for any clue as to the cost of it (@10/day PER device)
