Almond Tree Inn Rocks

from Jilllipper
We have recently just returned from our vacation in Key West. We stayed at Almond Tree Inn and LOVED it. The location was perfect. We were able to walk everywhere. The room was immaculate and so were the grounds. The staff was so nice and helpful. You cannot go wrong here. I would definately stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

A definite winner

This was our second trip to KW, and we absolutely loved The Almond Tree. The rooms are very clean and have a modern appeal to them. The place was very relaxing and quiet as well. Happy Hour was a great way to start off the night and the staff is overwhelmingly nice. The bartender even made reservations for dinner for us. We will definitely be back and will stay here again. The location is excellent. The only gripe we had were the rooster's crowing at 6 am ( which you will find anywhere) and the AC unit is a bit loud when it comes on. We will not even chance going anywhere else when coming back down. A definite winner.

Excellent place to stay

This is a delightful place to stay in Key West. Our room with a King size bed was very nicely furnished. Both the breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese reception were well stocked with a wide variety of offerings. All of the staff were very pleasant, knowledgable and helpful. Our stay was perfect and we're hoping to return here next year for a longer stay.

Almond Tree Inn is wonderful...

Just returned from a stay at the Almond Tree Inn in Key West (5/1 - 5/8). This place is fantastic! It has 22 rooms/suites centrally located 1/2 block off of Duval for easy walking to just about anywhere. The Inn provided complimentary continental breakfast each morning, a two hour happy hour each evening form 5 - 7 with free beer, wine, soda, cheese & crackers and other snacks. The staff was friendly, efficient and very helpful with suggestions for dining and other activities. They would also offer to make any reservations on your behalf. The rooms had a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, iron & ironing board, hair dryer, safe, cable t.v. and robes. It was all we could have asked for. Housekeeping was always timely and well done. There is a small and very refreshing pool (a must for cooling off after strolling Duval), a jacuzzi and was beautifully landscaped with palms and a koi pond.Key West itself was rich with things to do. We visited Hemingway House, Curry Mansion, The Oldest House (Wrecker Museum), Butterfly Conservatory, Mallory Square, Schooner Wharf and various othr spots. There are still some sites we didn't have time to see and will visit them when we return. We also took the seaplane to the Dry Tortugas and went parasailing. Great!!Restaurants and bars are abundant. Don't miss Blue Heaven, PT's, La Ti Da, Alice's, New York Deli, Half Shell Raw Bar, Sloppy Joe's, Irish Kevin's, The Bull, Capt. Tony's, Fat Tuesday's and Hog's Breath Saloon. There are many more and I could go on and on but these come to mind immediately.Overall, Key West is a great vacation destination and we were absolutely thrilled with the Almond Tree Inn. We plan on staying there again when we return.

We Loved This Place!

We just returned home from the Florida keys and our last stop was Key West. Although Key West is very eclectic and different, the Almond Tree Inn was perfect. Great location, right off Duval Street. The Inn had beautifully decorated, clean rooms. . . and the premise as a whole was beautiful. Great pool and spa, and lush palm trees everywhere. A great place to get away from the weirdos on Duval Street.

Keep this place a secret if too many find out we will never get a room in the future

We stayed at the Almond Tree Inn and it was perfect. While there, we looked at the larger hotels that were right on the water, and I still prefered the Almond Tree Inn. It was a nice calm place to "come home to" while in the Keys. and the happy hour was perfect. The rooms were very clean and decorated very nicely.

fabulous location

from lexygramma
Great location, small motel/inn with B&B qualities. Front Desk staff and all other staff are very pleasant and helpful. We had a king-size room, and was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and updated furnishings. Shower was small and water pressure low, but that was truly the only one drawback to this place. We walked everywhere, day and night...no need for a car when staying here. Would definitely return to this place!

Absolutely loved the Almond Tree Inn!

My husband & I stayed here for 3 nights, Jan. 25-28, 2004, and couldn't have been more pleased! Everyone on the staff was amazingly helpful - recommending restaurants, excursions, & the like - and then went that extra mile by making the reservation calls for us. The entire inn has been recently remodeled and looks very charming. The pool/whirlpool area is clean & tidy - and although the area isn't large, it is very inviting. There is an abundance of trees & plants that provide privacy & a tropical atmosphere. We stayed in a king suit, so we had a private patio that was really nice for catching a little shade or eating the complimentary continental breakfast (coffee, juice, fresh pastries, croissants, bagels, fruit). The room itself was very spacious. Lovely decor - a mini kitchen with fridge, microwave, coffeemaker, & sink - the bath has a glass block shower enclosure - the towels were large & fluffy. Other amenities provided: magnified lighted makeup mirror, hairdryer, ironing board, iron, safe, robes, & Key West Aloe bath & body products. Upon our arrival, we also found a package of oreo cookies & two bottles of water (complimentary) in our room. The housekeeping staff was very efficient & kept the room stocked & clean.
The location is also awesome - you're just a half block off Duval, and within easy walking distance of all Duval St. has to offer - but it's quiet because you're far enough away from the busy end of Duval. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again & again!!

Immensely impressed

The best part of this fantastic hotel is its staff-- such a great group of people. I stayed at the Almond Tree during the New Years week and am considering making this an anual trip. Excellent service, nice room, fantastic stay.

Top Local Tips for Key West

Snorkeling Don't go on one of the local snorkeling boat trips; better to snorkel at the state park, or go to Dry Tortugas

Time of year to go April and May are great times to go! Hot enough to enjoy the pool and wear your bathing suit, tank tops and shorts, but not sweltering hot like in August. Also, go to the Conch Replublic Independence celebration -- fun events!

HOT in the summer! I LOVE Key West. . . it's unlike any other place in the world. The vibe is great. . laid back, easygoing, fun, and friendly. I'm a Floridian. . but I must say, it's HOT in August!
