Honeymooners

After reading the reviews others had written about Alexander's I had high expectations, and I was not disappointed.

This was our first trip together, as honeymooners, and the staff was very friendly and knowledgable about activities and resturaunts to visit.

Alexanders is great because it is close to Duval street, but far enough away that is stays quiet.

The pool was extremely well kept, just remember your bug repellant. I walked away with 25 mosquito bites. Breakfast next to the pool was very nice.

The room was very clean, but the walls were a little thin. (Our room had a connecting door to the room next to us, making things like t.v.'s easy to hear.)

Over all we were extremely satisfied with Alexanders and we would recommend it to anyone!

Great Hotel.. a bargain for the location

We stayed at the Alexander Palms court a few days in march .
We had a double room in a quiet corner and were very satisfied.

Though we were having some problems with paper-thin walls and noisy neighbours, we enjoyed our stay.

The breakfast is above average ( served poolside) and the staff is extremly friendly, offering us a cold beer aside the pool and recommending us great restaurants!

Also, everything was very clean and well kept!

A must stay

My wife and I stayed here the first time in April of 2002. We showed up and wondered around town looking for the ideal place to stay. We found it!! It was very affordable and clean with a great Key West vibe. The lady at the front desk offered us a couple of cold beers as soon as we checked in. She said the kidney shaped pool in the center of the one-story bungalows had no closing time, just to kept it quiet if you wanted to take a dip at 2 in the AM. Same with the hot tub. The grounds are lush and tropical. There is a continental breakfast set out by the pool each morning.

We showed up a year and a half later with my wife's cousin and our two small boys. Again, no reservations. We got lucky and they had a room for us. Both rooms we stayed in were one bedrooms and had kitchens. We again had a magical time. When ever we go back to Key West we will definetly stay here again. I imagine we will be sure to make reservations and not push our luck again!

We had a wonderful time here. We will always stay at Alexander Palms Court when we visit the Keys. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, and the shower heads are great. The staff booked activities for us and helped out in any way they could. We couldn't have asked for a better place. My boyfriend and I loved ever minute of it. I think everyone should stay here when they come to the Keys.

We found the motel acceptable. The staff is quite pleasant and helpful and the complex was quite clean. Also the price of the accomadations allowed us to stay in Key West for three nights. The front gate is closed at 6 PM, so it keeps the accomadations quite private and safe. However the room was quite small. The bathroom door was quite noisy when closing it, and we could also hear other doors closing.

But if someone is looking for good budget accomadations in Key West, this is the place to be.

Wonderful Piece of Paradise

This was our first stay in Key West, and I have to say, the comments in Trip Advisor did NOT disappoint us. Upon check in, the manager was incredibily friendly and helpful. He took the time to provide us with maps and personal suggestions of places to eat (food was fabulous at each place suggested) and things to see and do. The location was perfect. It's located just off Duval Street with the heart of the activity just a nice leisurely walk away. It's close enough for easy access to the fun but far enough away that you can still enjoy a quiet night's sleep. The pool area was nicely done and well kept up. You feel right at home and comfortable from the first moment you get there. Our room could have used some touch-up painting, but it was still very comfortable. Without a doubt, we will stay here again the next time we visit Key West. It's a gem of a find for the price.

We stayed here in Feb, 2005 and had a very enjoyable experience. Our room was large, clean, and acceptably furnished. The best part was the motel grounds. The pool in the center of this small court (9 or 10 rooms) is surrounded by many palm trees and other tropical plants, and is completely isolated from the outside world. We spent hours around and in the pool.

Positives: Good, simple continental breakfast; 2 blocks to Duval Street; 3 blocks to Beach; Great value for Key West.

Negatives: Hardly any... a little old but well kept up.

My husband & I stayed here Jan. 5-11, 2005. We had never been to Key West before & this place was amazingly tranquil, which was exactly what we were looking for. Quiet location, on the bus route & only a few blocks from the beach made for easy access to everything. The property & rooms were clean & made us feel right at home. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! You'll get the best value for your Key West stay!! The hospitality is unbeatable!

Great place to stay

My first time in Key West and it was also my birthday. The room was lovely and spacious. The breakfest was more than I expected and displayed beautifully. The staff was EXCEPTIONAL they provided us with very useful information as to where to eat and things to do, like fishing and snorkling. the rooms were very clean as was the pool and the deck. We will be back next year.

My wife and I just stayed there the first weekend in December. It was in a very quiet area close to Duval Street. I would recommend it if you're looking for some place reasonable, small, quiet, and with comfortable beds. We had friends staying farther down Simonton St. who paid twice as much for their rooms and while their rooms were bigger, they were by no means worth twice the price per night. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was simple but very nice. From what I saw while we were there, it was one of the best values on Key West.

Top Local Tips for Key West

Must check out Rooftop Cafe Top 5 best dinners I've ever had, ever. If you're in Key West for a romantic getaway, you have to check this place out (and def. get the crabcakes!)

Sightseeing Don't even waste your time and money on "touristy" tours. Just get out there an walk and poke around and see everything. Walk Duval Street end to end first (both sides) THEN decide what you want to do. Most side streets have "something" to see on them even though it doesn't necessarily look like there is. Venture on any of them and you will not be disappointed. Definite MUST DO's. Blue Heaven for breakfast, Schooner's for the Magic Show (at night), Lattitudes for dinner (very romantic, expensive, but awesome, on the specials ask for a price, it'll getcha if you don't), Ft. Zachary Taylor Beach, best jewelry store- I Jewelers on 304 Front Street (see Alex, he's the BEST), Rent from a reputable moped place, the cheap ones will just make you sick, make it a point to get to Mallory Square after 5 pm for the evening gathering, watch out for the bikes that take you around town driven by someone else...it's VERY expensive! Just walk. Key West is the bomb!

Bicycle Rent a bike and see the island. Heck, you can circle the whole island in a couple hours! It is the best way to explore.
