| We've booked to return |
We have been visitng Florida for over 10 years now. We have stayed in a wide range of accommodation (from 3* to 5* and beyond!) and can honestly say that the Diamond Head is exactly what we were looking for. The facilities it has to offer are exactly right for a family of four (2 boys aged 11 and 15); the locality on the beach front is perfect - and it's not far from some great eateries if you want to eat out. We still dream of our leisurely breakfasts taken on the balcony of our room; fantastic sunsets were also a highlight of our days. The rooms were comfortable and clean - the only thing we would have appreciated as an extra would be a room safe.
We can thoroughly recommend the resort and we're already dreaming of next year - we're booked to return! |

| What is Lynn talking about? |
I'm sorry, but the comments by Lynn make no sense. This resort most definately IS on the Gulf of Mexico. Water clarity has nothing to do with where it is located. It is near a river mouth, but calling it a run-off is misleading too. Water goes in and out of the river with the tideal flow. Ask any fisherman around there (and the fishing is pretty good. Now about the place......kind of over-priced if you ask me. I tried cutting them a little slack since the island was hit pretty hard by a hurricane 9 months ago and damage around the island is evident. |

| This hotel is no 4 star!!!! |
Just so that you know I NEVER ever complain about anything but after this vacation and the money we spent at Diamond Head resort in FL (also known as sunstream) I felt the need to write for everyone thinking of going to Ft. Myers Beach on vacation. Let me start by saying average spent there a night was $379.00. Should have been lovely? Don’t you agree? We arrived the room was beautiful; we were on the tenth floor in a beachfront suite what they call gulf side. We were so happy to have arrived since we drove from RI to get there. I immediately kicked off my shoes and started to order some room service. I looked down at the bottom of my feet and they were both BLACK. I was kind of grossed out but what the heck a little dirt is not going to kill me. I decided to take a hot shower before dinner, it took me twenty minutes to get wet there was no water pressure at all. I.E. if you were to wet a paper towel and drip it over you, you would have better luck on getting wet. The next day we repor... Read more |
