We stayed here for one night waiting for our cruise the next day, the hotel is a popular spot for cruisers. It is an older hotel but it was clean and had a good pool area for kids. It also provides a FREE full breakfast for guests at the restaurant on site. It provides FREE shuttle service to and from the Airport/Cruiseport.They also have parking for you vehicle if you choose to leave it there while on your cruise(only $6 a day, it's $12@ the cruiseport) but ask early for this service for they do fill up fast. Some of the rooms could use a little updateing but for the price it wasn't bad. Booked w/ Expedia for $77 a night not bad to be so close to the Ports.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Ramada Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport Hotel

Hi speed wireless in lobby only

from ppilot
Located between a couple of freeways and I believe railroad tracks (the noise during the night). Ft Lauderdale hotels are expensive and this the cheapest @ $126! A standard motel room setup with safe, no refrigerator. I would try for an inside room, we didn't have one. Air conditioning controllable and good.

Convenient stopover at a good price

My husband & I stayed at the Ramada Inn the night before our cruise. Although we arrived at the airport past 12 am, the hotel complementary shuttle picked us up, no problem. (I did call the hotel when we got our luggage.) We found our room quite nice and clean, the hotel grounds had a lovely tropical atmosphere. The breakfast buffet was also really nice. Our shuttle to the cruiseport also went smoothly.

I would definitely recommend this hotel for a stopover before or after a cruise. Worth the price.

Not a great stay

This is your basic no-frills off the highway motel. It was worn in areas. Fundamentally, it was clean, but not worth a $140 per night. The one bedspread had a snall ink stain and there were inadequate towels (only one full bath towel. It was passable for a quick rest stop or a short overnight stay before a flight or cruise (in close proximity to both), but it lacked amenities vital for longer stays

Not too bad

I don't know where this hotel got a 3-star rating. The lobby and restaurant/lounge area was nice, but the rooms were kind of old and dingy. Friendly staff, but I felt like the facility needed a good face lift. I doubt I would stay there again.

It was in the middle of no where and an unsafe neighborhood. The closest McDonald's was about 5 miles and they wouldn't even drive you there. The hotel itself was a dump. As for the hot breakfast buffet-you are allowed 3 whole pieces of bacon and NO more!! I felt it was a terrible value for the price I paid for it. I usually stay in the cheaper hotels and this was the lowest price I could find for the area for this time of year. It was definately NOT a THREE star hotel.

Do not stay there

The services at the hotel were terrible. First of all, we got smoking room instead of non smoking, when non smoking were available. The room smelled like some body went to the bathroom in the middle of the room. The towels and the sheets were dirty. At the restaurant food(fish) smeeled we couldn't eat it. The shuttle service lost our luggage on a way from hotel the airport and we never got reenbursed for it.

Terrible Place

Don't be fooled into believing this is a good deal because the price includes free shuttle service between airport/hotel/cruiseship center, plus breakfast buffet. Shuttle DID NOT show up at airport, had to hail a cab, surly driver, cost us $20 to shut him up. After long travel flights and waiting at the airport for 40 min., it was more important to get to our room to rest. By then, it was pretty late and we were hungry so tried the restaurant. The food was mediocre. Free breakfast buffet was okay but we were turned off by then. Staff tried to be helpful and were pleasant, and it's unfortunate they have to work in such a dump. The only attractive area was the lobby. This place is old and rundown, and the beds in our room were bad. We ended up taking a taxi to the cruiseship center, preferring not to deal with the unreliable shuttle service.

Great value

We were surprised that there is such a wide range of comments regarding this property. It seems you either love the place, or hate it. We have come to the conclusion that some people are just never satisfied! We arrived at night, the airport shuttle was very prompt. Staff at the check-in desk was cordial, joking and friendly, a welcome thing after a long day of travel. Saw the pool area only at night, but we enjoyed a dip and sat around it with our party of 6 until after 10 p.m. The rooms were clean and comfy, and had everything we needed. A nice touch was a complimentary newspaper outside our door the next morning. We made use of the free internet access the next morning, also a nice perk that some hotels with much higher rates don't always have. There was a very nice hot breakfast buffet, also included in the room rate. The hotel also offered free shuttle to the cruiseport, which we gratefully used the next day. We were very happy with our stay. It's not a "luxury" hotel, but if you want all the above-mentioned amenities for a VERY reasonable price, stay here. It's a good start for all you "cruisers" out there who need a place to stay before departure.

Don’t be fooled but the three star rating this place has it’s a DUMP! We stayed for one night because it was close to the cruise port. I’ll admit the location isn’t bad. It’s easy to find off the highway and really close to the cruise port but that’s all it has going for it.

The place was supposed to have been remodeled within the past year or two and by the way it looks now it must have been a dump before. The pool area is ok but the room leaves much to be desired. They didn’t offer any in room movies but they had two HBO’s. Also the room was full of ants which is common in Florida but I’ve never seen them in any hotels I’ve stayed in before. I guess you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t stay there again since there is a holiday inn right down the street that looked much better.

The do offer free breakfast buffet but we had a major issue with that. My husband tried to bring me up some food since I was packing and one of the workers grabbed his arm, making him drop the food so she can tell him that he can’t take food out. Immediately a manager was called by another employee and we got an apology but will never stay there again.

Overall I’d give it a 2 only because of their location.

Great for groups.

Our shuttle from the airport arrived within 15mins even though our flight arrived around 11pm. Check in went smoothly and we received our breakfast vouchers and voucher for a complimentary drink at the night club. We dumped out suitcases in the room and went for a night cap at the bar. The bartender was freindly and efficient. The room itself was clean, no stains on the carpet and the bathroom only had a small ammount of mildew in the corner of the tub. The bed was comfortale and sheets were clean. The next morning we went for breakfast and met up with some people from our cruiseing group (cruise fools). The breakfast buffet had a large variety of hot and cold item as well as juice, tea and coffee. The food itself was tastey. After breakfast, we headed out for the pool. The pool was clean and the temperature was refreshing but not cold. Pool chairs were comfortable. Our group of 50 had a wonderful time around the pool but unfortuneately the tiki bar was not open due to past weather conditions. The food we ordered at the bar for lunch came out hot and fast, the day bar staff was just as polite and cheerful as the night staff. We went to check out the night club and told the door man we would bring back about 20-30 people and he said to come right back and was friendly. We went back to the night club with our group but we were told we were not dressed appropriately in shorts and t-shirts (I guess he should have told us that when we first check it out) We went back to the pool area and cashed our drink vouchers at the bar for beer or wine. In the morning, check out went quickly as soon as we got up to the counter, the line was long but our large group was all checking out at the same time. The 2 shuttles to the cruise port were efficient and tolerant of our loud and excited group. I would definately book the Ramada for another pre-cruise stay.

Top Local Tips for Fort Lauderdale

WaterTaxi If you have the time, take the water taxi (approx. $9-12 for the entire day) instead of one of the tours. You get the same information and the same sights, and you can get on and off at various locations.

the best hotel best before a cruise

Extra Money Take extra money for ordering out/ getting to offsite eateries unless. in good health and walk (like we did). But beach was GREAT!!!
