Gulfstream Park - fun for the entire family! People watching, world-class horse racing, great food, enjoying the outdoors - this is what Gulfstream offers. What a great change of pace. I went for the first time 2 years ago and go back every year. The track is all new. There are slot machines there for those who like that, I happen to not. I enjoy seeing famous horses and people up close and personal. I love the look in the children's eyes when they are 3 ft from these magnificent thoroughbreds. I bet for fun, $2-10 dollars here and there. It is just so much fun to be outdoors, enjoying such an exciting sport, with interesting people and beautiful athletes. It is in Hallandale, about 30 min. from Ft.Lauderdale. It is great fun!!!!!!!!!

Golf is good at So FL public courses Local public Fort Lauderdale courses are priced more reasonable in the summer time (when it's hot and humid), and can be pretty expensive in the winter - call the courses to get rates.. but also check their individual websites for 'internet' coupons, and in the local newspaper - Sun Sentinel, there are golf coupons (even in the winter ) posted only in the Monday edition of the sports section... no online coupons thru this paper. If golfing in the summer in South FL- try to book a morning tee time as it often rains in the later afternoons when the heat builds up over the land. The further West you are, the more chances of rain. Some courses may give a rain check only after a few holes, but why go through the aggravation? In fall, winter, & spring - not usually a problem. In Daylight savings times, you can book afternoon tee times and can usually get all the holes in before dusk (or little after) dusk. Always ask the course pro shop to quote the afternoon rates, you may save a bu
