risk and reward Hotwire is the way to go. There are not many 3 to 4 star resorts in Daytona. If you go the night of check in you can get the best available room for a minimal cost. I got a King size cabana suite on the board walk that I reserved at 8pm and showed up at 930pm for check in and i got it for under a $100.

The Beautiful Beach One of the great things about the Daytona Beach area is obviously the beach! You can choose to enjoy a traffic-free beach which is located the boardwalk and Ocean Walk Shoppes area or, drive your car onto the beach and enjoy miles and miles of pristine beach. The speed limit of 10 mph is strickly enforced and cars must stay in traffic lanes and away from the waters edge. The best part about parking on the beach is that you don't have to carry chairs, coolers, umbrella, beach toys or anything else. If you prefer the traffic free area I recommend using the parking garage connected to the Ocean Walk Shoppes. The pedestrian walkway is a great short cut and you will not have to worry about using the cross walk, traffic, etc. The maximum fee to park is $6 and your car will be in the shade all day! There are tons of dining options in this area from pizza and wings to Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Mai Tai's and Adobe Gila's.
