Our stay was July 26, 2009 - July 29, 2009. We were guests in room 302. There was a huge problem with our check-in that required additional communication between the time share and the manager. In the meantime, she was so kind as to extend hospitality at the bar. The bartender was so courteous and friendly we were compelled to tip generously. The housekeeper was extremely pleasant and went out of our way to help us.

We just returned from our Florida vacation and we loved our stay at the Plaza ocean club hotel. I searched for months online looking for a nice hotel and you never know what you're going to get until you get there. It was everything that they say they are and the rooms were very clean. The elevators could have been alittle faster..but that was our only complaint. We will definetly stay there again! Thanks Plaza staff for helping to make our vacation a great one. ~The Sharpe Family~

t go I beg you!

I read the reviews and I thought how bad could it be? Well, bad is not the word. The halls stunk like vomit, we had to switch rooms because the room smelled like mold. The kitchenette consisted of a sink and a microwave and no stove top. We had to buy a cook top and the fridge was way too small. They never vacummed. Hurricane Charley passed through and the power went out. They have us flashlights the next day and there were no emergency lights in the hallways. We wasted our money don't waste yours!

all the bad reviews are accurate

After reading all these reviews my fiancee and I decided how bad could it really be so we booked a room with a oceanview. Well we had a oceanview which was a little bit of ocean and alot of the dump of a hotel next door. Then our balcony was right above the hotel's dumpster which made it really pleasant to sit out and enjoy the fresh ocean air. Are bathroom stunk like someone use to the toilet all the the time. Our tub had a leak and was all over the floor. We never saw our cleaning lady at all. I would say to anyone wanting to stay here save your money and stay somewhere else this hotel is dirty and needs alot of attention. next time all listen to reviews I read

I don't know about these reviews I am reading because I just got back from staying here and the only complaint I have is that it took a few hours to get clean towels. This place was AWESOME! Very nice and clean pool, restaurant was great with really good food, and the staff did everything possible to make our stay great. I had a room booked at the Boardwalk Inn and Suites until I saw their about disgusting. I drove down A1A checking each hotel for vacancy and came across this Plaza Ocean Club. They got us into a room almost immediately and THEY actually apologized for our inconvenience at the other hotel, now that is good service. Also, next door is the Plaza Resort and Spa (they are owned by same company) and you get all the perks at that resort also. The kids had something to do everyday at their KIDS KAMP activity center at NO COST TO US!!!! I will definately go back and I suggest the same for everyone. THANK YOU PLAZA OCEAN CLUB FOR A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN DAYTONA BEACH!!!!!

Poorest, Filthiest hotel ever

from A TripAdvisor Member
On our second and last evening at this Raddison location we have made numerous complaints about the vomit on our room curtains, urine on the bathroom walls, and not getting room service (i.e. no clean towels, washcloths, etc.). We had to search out the cruddy basement to find clean towels and made five requests over 2 days to get a coffee pot. The lack of an included refergerator revealed dead cockroaches and more filth. We are out of here!! We travel alot and this is the absolute worse we have ever experienced. Staff and management do not seem to care about the customer or what happens at this supposedly fine Raddison property. According to Raddison's guest welcome statement the staff is "professionally trained and deeply committed to ensuring 100% satisfaction". We do not feel as though we were given any level of service attention and detail that Radison states their customers deserve. Our expectations certainly were not met let alone exceeded.

Filthy dirty and needs renovating!!!

from A TripAdvisor Member
This was the second time in two years we have stayed here. We found candy under the beds from previous occupants. The carpet was filthy dirty and these rooms totally need to be redone!! There were so special perks as there were when we stayed in 2002 when it was the Radisson. Our balcony had a big chunck of concrete missing and I was very nervous to be out on it. Plus, there should be a service elevator just for employees. We were in the elevator when an employee had a key to bypass all the floors with people waiting to get on it. You could wait 15 minutes for one to show up after pressing the button. Everyone I talked to was totally disgusted!!!!!! We will never stay here again, unless it is renovated!!!!!!

money was stolen out of my room by housekeeping

from A TripAdvisor Member
stayed here for a weekend checked out but left a locked box in my room with some cash in it. called, called and called again talked to every employee in hotel was told by manangement in his very own words "sorry nothing we can do" it was there then gone so it was taken by hotel housekeeper so trust me guard your valuables at this hotel the best thing to do is take them with u what a horrible experience ruined my whole trip. get a room somewhere else hotel staff very rude and not wanting to help at all rate this a big fat zero!!

dirty, filthy, discusting

from A TripAdvisor Member
I would never stay here again, i was in the hotel for about 2hrs. the rooms were dirty, filthy and dicusting. When i walked in to the room the toylet had been used and had not bee flushed. The shower was grimy and smelly. The second room smelled like it had never been cleaned. The beds had stains on them. I demanded my money back and left.

great place to stay

After transferring from the horrible Best Western La Playa, this place was heaven. The staff was very friendly and responded to questions and concerns very quickly. The elevators were a little slow, but it was worth the sacrifice for all the positives. The pool was wonderful, never crowded and had plenty of chairs. The room was nice and kept clean by the hotel staff. The hotel is right in the middle of the action and was definately worth the money!

My first Spring Break Getaway

from A TripAdvisor Member
I recently stayed at thePlaza Ocean Club For my Spring Break getaway. I was impressed by the friendly staff . I was greeted right away and served quickly.I origanally had a ''run of the house room'' which ment whatever was available to me I recieve. But we deffinetly had a room available for us. When we got there the man at the front desk had are room changed to a better one. I didn't see the first room but he wanted us to have a nice stay. So we got a room on the 10th floor. The veiw was beautiful . It was clean and We never had a problem with towels or room service. It was so funny ,I called the front desk for towels and when I got back to my room there was enough towels for 10 nights. Plus people kept coming with more towels. It was great !!!!. The only downfall was the elevator took forever. I had an excellent stay. We took late night swims in the pool and drank openly are whole stay. I had a blast. This hotel is located in the middle of everything. Great place to say for the family or spring breakers. Clubs are seconds away and tones of shops and little restuarants. If you are looking for a nice , clean FUN hotel stay here.

dirty and disappointing

from A TripAdvisor Member
Where to start, Parking a joke. if you do not get a spot during the day and leave your car, you will need to park accross A1A a block away next to the strip club then dodge traffic to get back to the hotel. The room we had was on the 4th floor. the bathroom had mold growing on the paint in the bathroom. the tile was starting to fall off the wall. If you need ice it is only on the odd floors, and with our luck only the 9th floor machine was working. the hotel lobby looks great but dont let that fool you. the rooms were just rn down and the halls were dirty.
for the $$$ stay someplace else The beachcomber was just totally remodeled, and was $20/night cheaper shoudl have went there.

Top Local Tips for Daytona Beach

Virtually non-existant Drive instead of flying if you can. A rental car sits in the lot @ $5/day parking + rental fee. Cabs are fairly expensive. You don't NEED a car every day, but having one opens up a LOT of possibilities. The bus service runs only every 45 minutes up/down A1A, so it's a real hassle. If you get a cab driver named Pappy don't believe EVERYTHING he tells you...if he's done everything he says he's done, he'd be 106!

Museum of Arts & Sciences, Daytona Beach They have an astounding collection of old Coca-Cola vending machines, delivery trucks, and other memorabilia. And operating Coke machines, of course. Plus a truly odd mix of collections, including Cuban art, a couple of magnificently accurate (if faded) British colonial maps of northeast Florida (OK, those are probably interesting only to northeast Floridians), art glass, holography, a grand ground sloth with a great reproduction of the nearby site where it was found, and even a hallway of ancient Mexican and Central American pottery.

Restaurant If you have a car, travel to Poince Inlet and dine at Down the Hatch. Great food, friendly service and they do have live band entertainment sometimes. Check it out.
