Good hotel!
from askhan91This was a very good hotel. It did seem dead at times and a great value for the amount ($130) we paid. It did seem a little old but the marble in the bathroom was gorgeous. I ordered room service and it was fantastic! Overall, it was a great hotel and make this your hotel while in Miami.
Hyatt Heaven
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe property is spotless and exudes warmth and welcome. The room was spacious and comfortable.
The heated pool is a tranquil balm and the fitness room is adaquate. The location is ideal and within walking distance to restaurants galore and the free trolley. Self - parking was a breeze.
The real jewels in the crown are the Hyatt staff; they're the best!
Only negative is the prohibitive cost. Out AAA rate included two delicious breakfasts daily. Hoping to secure a better rate during next year's Winter sojourn.
nice hotel
from umegalsAnd a little secret...I always use Priceline.com to get a great rate. Name your own price feature lets you choose Coral Gables as your neighborhood, and a 4 star hotel. I got my stay here last weekend for $95.00 a night, it was $269.00 on the hyatt website.
Good place but watch out for noise.
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat hotel
from melodyMDThe rooms are very good size, and come with the typical amenities. The lobby areas are decorated with great detail, and during the Christmas season, they had really outdone themselves - so many beautiful touches! The staff is polite, helpful and efficient. The location is nice - two blocks from Miracle Mile, and a short drive to other Miami destinations. There isn't much happening here at night except restaurants, but if you are staying in Coral Gables that is to be expected. The food at the restaurant is not that good - and it is pricey - so I'd recommend skipping that. There are many nice restaurants only a few blocks away. The pool is really great. The only current problem is the huge construction site next door, which destroys the view from many of the rooms. It wasn't noisy, but it was sure ugly. If you are not on the side facing this construction, you will not be bothered by it - and even though one of our rooms did face it, we still didn't mind, because the hotel was very comfortable and there was really no noise. We just kept the curtains drawn in that room.
Building construction next door
from TUGhilThe swimming pool is heated, and is also nice. However, be aware that there is a new high rise building going up right next door. The construction crew starts early in the morning ( about 7:30 am), and you can hear the electric saws, and all the commotion if you are by the pool. The rooms are quiet. I was by the pool on a Saturday morning, and the noise is very loud and disturbing. If you planned to read a good book or newspaper by the beautiful pool, may as well re-consider as construction noise cannot be stopped! I've included some photos including the big construction crane overhanging your view from the pool.
The fitness center is nice, however 3 machines were broken. Both Life Cycle machines were not working. Why don't hotels fix these things?
Also, the hot tub was out of order the days I was there. Even then, with all the construction going on on the high rise next door, the hot tub wouldn't have been that relaxing.
See photos attached during my stay Nov 26-29, 2005.
Be careful about using the meter parking. I got a $18 ticket on a Saturday night for letting it be expired for about 1 hour. Anybody who writes that on weekends, you don't need to feed the meters are incorrect!
Your choice is to pay for parking which is about an extra $16 a day plus tax.
South Miami is turning into a mini Manhattan.
A Great Stay in Coral Gables
from FreeburnCGreat Ambiance
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe five nights my friend and I spent at the hotel were very enjoyable; there was really nothing to complain about. Had internet access through the hotels's business centre. We were happy to have a balcony given that only a small number of rooms seem to have them. We felt safe to walk in the neighbourhood as well. We are happy that we selected this hotel on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews and would recommend staying here.
Beautiful Property

Great and cheap breakfast Pick up your breakfast at the Publix on Douglas and Zamora. Cuban pastries and croquettas ROCK!!! And, make sure you stop by a Cuban cafeteria for a snack of an empanada and a cordtadito.
FYI with the TV This hotel has satellite cable. So be forewarned if there is a storm you probably won't have any cable for a bit. We had planned to watch tv for the evening and were extremely disappointed when a storm blew in and our cable signal for the entire hotel went down.
Celebrity Boat Tour 1 1/2 trip around the homes of the celebrities.. Really cool! My husband yelled out to Frazier who was chillin on his back lawn and he waved back with a smile..
