Reasonable Hotel in Cocoa Beach

from AMess10
The international palms resort is in a good location in Cocoa Beach, near Ron Jon's, and the beach. The hotel room was clean, although a little dated. It reminds me more of the old time motels where you park your car in front of your motel door. My room was just outside the back doors to the lobby so it was convenient getting to my room. Lots of parking and the staff were nice. Plus the price was reasonable.

Great Clean Property That Is A Great Value

from Capoli
I travel to the area on business every other week and found this hotel after several average stays at other hotels in the area. This hotel has a very attentative carring staff that make you feel welcomed. Rooms are clean, well appointed and comfortable. Restaurant food is great and the Commander's Club Lounge always has some sort of entertainment- Poker Night, Comedy Show, Kareoke, live entertainment. This time I brought my family for a Christmas getaway and we never wanted/ had to leave the hotel because there was so much for the family to do - Kids Pirates Ship Water Park, Arcade Room, Heated Olypic Size Pool, Tennis Courts, Shuffle Board Courts, kids suites with bunkbeds. The staff seems so happy to have you there and everyone says hello when they walk by.

The hotel has a new owner who is planning a muti-million dollar renovation to the property over the next several months and I can't wait to see how it turns out.

This place has a resort feel and we are planning our next vacation this summer at the International Palms Resort.

Fun place, clean, friendly and helpful staff

from ksu655
We were with a group of people, although our rooms were not located together, we had no problem getting around; the resort area is large, but the signs were easy to follow. The grounds were very pretty and well-maintained; the rooms were clean. The towels were not great, but we managed. There is a heated swimming pool which our group used, a jacuzzi (we did not use it), tennis courts, a shuffleboard area(the kids got a kick out that), restaurant, pool bar. The staff very friendy. We enjoyed our stay and would both recommend and return ourselves. One family in our group stayed in the Ocean Lofts which looked very nice. Maybe next time?

Good Value Great Location

from TripsSands
This resort is a great value for an oceanfront room. You cant beat the location. It also has pretty nice amenities with tennis, pools, shuffle board, and several bars (great bloody marys). This was our second trip. We plan to visit again for a long weekend since its a short drive from Orlando.

Rooms need lots of updating.

from Bleedngreen
Called from my Priority Club number and we decided even if it was no longer a Holiday Inn we would try it. Room was small and needed lots of redecorating, full-size beds. Ventilation very noisy. Bathroom had a new tub but small and in need of better attention to cleaning and maintenance. Breakfast restaurant was slow but good quality. They need to do a LOT of work on this place. Not Wi-Fi....who travels with a cable anymore???

The worst hotel during our trip

from AStrayDog
Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay because of some difficulties that occured while we have been there (aircondition did not work, telephone too, change of room, problems with re-entering the room on the next day, unkind person at the front desk, we asked for coffee and housekeeping threw it on the bed - and this in only two nights).

The employees at the front desk were not friendly and it seemed they were not interested how we felt and what they could improve.

Anyway, Jim at the bar is a really kind person and the technicians did their best to help us (this is the only reason for the rated star)

One thing left: we were told by our travel agency that the HI Cocoa Beach is not a HI anymore... Now we know why...

ve found anywhere

The resort is like an island. Everything you need to have a relaxing vacation is on the property. The staff is ready, willing & able to assist your every request from bringing extra linens to suggesting sight-seeing trips. The food at the restaurants is good. There is a snack bar at the pool, an outdoor dining area on the ocean, and a lounge & restaurant indoors, as well. Although my kids are older, there is an adorable pirates' ship kiddy-pool for the younger children. The adults' pool is huge & theocean views are breathtaking. We will be coming back here as long as they'll have us!!!

nice enough for a few nights

from KoolkatMichigan
Our room was a bit old but the kid's partition (with the bunk beds) was nice. It was big enough to put a pack and play on the floor so we could put our two year old to bed and still stay up. We stayed right across from the toddler park which worked out well. The pool was too cold to swim in (not heated) and the toddler pool was really too cold. Our daughter didn't like all of the squirting water everywhere. It would be better for a 3-5 year old. I don't think I would stay here again. It was good for a few nights but not for a week stay. I guess because of the time of year, they weren't renting out the beach chairs or anything and the beach bar was closed. All negatives for us. It was good enough for the price but we probably won't be going back. We checked out the new Ron Jon resort in Cape canaveral and plan on staying there for our next vacation.

ve Ever Encountered!!

from singh1975
Let me start by saying I don't like being a negative person or giving negative reviews. In fact, I stay over 100 nights a year in hotels for work and leisure, and I never really complain.

I booked this hotel as I wanted to stay in a beach setting after 5 days of Disney with the kids. As I'm a Priority Club Platinum member, I decided to book this hotel. When we arrived late at night, I found out the hotel was no longer a Holiday Inn. Surprise. No one told us this, not even IHG?! I had booked a suite and as a platinum was expecting an upgrade or free breakfast. But none was forthcoming as the hotel wasn't associated with IHG anymore. Furthermore, the room I was given wasn't a suite, but a double room with a partition in the middle where they've put in a bunk bed and called it a kids suite.

The hotel was built in the 50s and it looks like it. It is in a motel style, but I'd have to say that most motels are better kept than this. The room stank horribly, everything was "wet" despite the AC being on full. The mattresses were atrocious, the carpet was ripped and dirty, paint and plaster was peeling off everywhere, the TV only had a fuzzy reception, and the bathroom looked like something out of the stone age. My kids refused to get into the tub to take a shower, because they said it was yucky! Indeed, all the paint was peeling off the tub and it looked like there were hairs everywhere. After three nights in the room, I, my wife and my three kids developed a horrible itch and rash all over our bodies.

When I complained, I was given a different room that was even worse than the first. I was told they're all the same!!?? Yes, they did have two tennis courts which have seen better days, and a fairly large pool and kid's pool. However, despite the fact that they are advertised as heated pools, they were not. None of the outdoor bars or restaurants were open. After several complaints to management, we managed to get a nights refund, which is yet to arrive. I also complained for two days to IHG, who finally saw fit to credit me enough points for a free nights stay somewhere else.

Cocoa beach is a nice place, and great for families. This hotel is not. Avoid it like the plague, you'll thank me!

Many things to drive to see but nothing really exciting in Cocoa Beach We drove to Universal Studios to see Margaritaville, but other than that we went there to relax and that is just what we did. Cocoa Beach itself doesn't offer much in the way of entertainment, etc.
