Priceline Rooms

We ended our Disney vacation here last summer. I like Cocoa and had never tried the Hilton. The rooms were through Priceline and they were really shabby. I complained but was told "it's an old hotel." I thought maybe the Priceline rooms were extra bad??? No view, of course, but we didn't expect that. I was embarrassed to take my family there. The beach and pool area are great. We made do and just tried to remember we really weren't paying much. Thank goodness.

Great beach but the hotel...

We stayed here in January 2002 and found that the hotel itself was in need of a renovation; peeling wallpaper, noisy a/c, worn carpeting and drapes etc. Our room overlooked the ocean and the view would have been great if the window wasn't so dirty. Everything else was fairly clean though and the beds were okay comfortwise. The outside bar is overpriced and the service is slow, but the pool and deck were very nice. Exercise room was about 90 degrees very day I was there (5)! The beach is great! Nice soft sand and very clean, and that made up for everything else. Overall, it was just okay, but I expected more from a Hilton hotel.

Good hotel honest........

I read all the revues about this hotel before we travelled, and I am glad to say they were mostly wrong. This is a beach hotel, located right on the beach.....Not in a city, but right on the beach. There is a diffrence, not just the obvious. As a Hilton this is not the best, but a beach hotel....... clean,spacious,good food, great snacks, good bar service, lovely pool and boardwalk right onto the, yes.........BEACH....please try you will enjoy.

Let me preface my review by saying that my husband won a trip to Cocoa Beach, so the hotel was FREE.



There was ample free parking, and the front desk staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel is right on the beach, and most rooms have an ocean view (you may not be ocean front, but you can still see it at an angle).



The hotel is relatively quiet and both couple- and family-friendly.
They had 2 or 3 restaurants, a gift shop, and convention space. There was also a medium-sized heated pool, a wonderful pool deck with beautiful vegatation, and lounge-chair and umbrella rental.



The beach is very pretty. There are waves big enough to surf on, and the sand is very soft and the beach is BIG!

The downsides: the hotel really needs a renovation. It is sparkling clean and the maids and staff were great, but it really, really looks like it's stuck in the 1980s. We're talking the neon pink and neon green bedspreads, tacky wallpaper and carpet, and pastel paintings. It really had more of a Holiday Inn or Days Inn feel than a Hilton. Again, service was Hilton standards but the hotel is not.



HOWEVER, we gathered from talking to the locals that the Hilton is one of the nicer properties. In fact, the New Year's Eve bash there was in high demand. I think, overall, that Cocoa Beach just isn't "resorty" nice - it's a sleepy little town that has its charm, but don't expect the Ritz-Carlton here.

A recommendation for food - the Sunset Cafe has a WONDERFUL open deck, cheap beer, and tasty seafood!

Yuck, being from a small rural town, I really expected a Hilton to be clean and upscale. I was wrong! I had checked reviews and saw bad ones..but didn't believe a Hilton could ever be dissappointing. It was run down with water stains, rust and peeling wallpaper. Most of the rooms DO NOT have refrigerators. Upscale no...I could have done better in any rural town. I will say the people were very nice and it is a shame that the hotel does not live up to the standards of the name. I quess it is quantity and not quality at Cocoa Beach.

A Great Stay

Treated very well by staff. Views of beach excellent, even partial views. Rooms average, buffet food average. Location is great. I was on a non smoking room floor and called to tell staff that I smelled cigarette smoke on my floor when I returned to my room one afternoon.
They immediately moved me to a better ocean front room - no questions.
Friendly and professional staff. Renting chairs and beach items - expensive and really not needed. Bar service outside fair, inside bar better - menu items average. Towels to use for pool - very poor.
However, over-all a very good stay. I would stay there again!

I found the Hilton fine, i was expecting the worst after reading the reviews but the location was good, right on the beach and the staff were helpful.The rooms were a decent size but bathroom quite small.
Overall i would stay at this hotel again but only if the price was right!

GREAT STAY...

We just got back from a week in Florida. We stayed with family in Titusville, but spent 2 nights at the Hilton Oceanside in Cocoa Beach.

I'm not sure why the others gave bad reviews. I am sure that due to the attentitive staff any complaints would have been rectified.

This was our second year staying there and we had a wonderful time. The room was clean, the pool was great and the service at the front desk, restaurant and at the bar (thanks Bob, Karena, and Pat!) was excellent.

I would recommend this hotel highly and plan on returning next year.

Feel bad for the tourist

I grew up in Titusville and my girlfriends from school wanted to do the "girl's" Night out in Cocoa Beach so we were to stay at the Hilton in Cocoa Beach.....ON the executive floor. There are no balconies first of all. So if you are from out of town and want an ocean view forget it. You can not see the ocean from your ocean front room. The wall goes up to about 3.5 feet before the window and being on the top floor all you see is sky. The bedspreads were falling apart. We quickly left and went to the Double tree. We did not have ocean front but North Ocean view. Wonderful. Remember the Ocean is dark at night. So to have the city lights and the ocean it was wonderful we sat on the porch for hours till we were ready for bed. The breeze was fantastic. Try the Double Tree over the Hilton. Much better!

I should have trusted the other reviews!!! This hotel is horrible!!

I really wish we would have trusted the other reviews --- after staying at this hotel for two LONG nights, I can agree that this is a horrible hotel for the money!! I'm truly surprised that Hilton would put their name on this one!! The staff is very unfriendly and rude, and the rooms are old and dirty!! Our dirty window overlooked a rusty rooftop, the carpet was old and musty, the shower drained so slow, you were standing in a foot of water by the end of a shower!!! Unfortunately the Doubletree Hotel down the road was booked, or we would have stayed there -- they are also owned by the Hilton, but the hotel is much much nicer -- and the rates are lower! I think someone from Hilton's corporate office needs to come check this out -- I sure wouldnt want my name on it!!!!

Top Local Tips for Cocoa Beach

"The" breakfast place to go in Cocoa Beach Eat breakfast at Simply Delicious. Breakfast is my favorite meal and Simply Delicious is on my top 10 list in the USA. It is in a converted house in downtown Cocoa Beach. Freshbaked breads, quiche, pancakes, eggs, good coffee. It is a classic casual "granola" breakfast place. They have great soup and sandwiches also. The bummer for me is it opens at 8:00 am, so I can only go during the weekend and it gets crowded.

Dont miss Kennedy Center Beacuse of the heat, plan visits in the morning.

Hotel Tips Most hotels in Cocoa Beach are value oriented. For travellers looking for more upmarket accomodations this will be a bit of a challenge. I felt the Hilton Beachfront Hotel came closests to an upscale vacation property.
