Nice Hotel
from TracyCTExcellent Hotel, Great Accommodations!
from A TripAdvisor MemberHotel is very quiet and pleasant. Guests seemed to be well respectable of the hotel. Room was very clean, shower-sink-floor very well maintained. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. 2 computers in lobby for internet access- along w/ wireless access in rooms tho did not make use of it in room. Stayed on the 3rd floor which was a great view. The Hampton Inn is in a small hotel courtyard with the Marriott and another hotel next door. All hotels are pretty big.
Pathway to the beach is right outside the gate near the pool. Takes only a couple minutes from the hotel, not even- to walk to the beach. There is surf board/tubes/body board rentals from a guy at the beach for $10 a day.
Had a semi-oceanview room which was really nice, cant see the beach but can see the water in the distance- pretty view. Continental breakfast was very sufficient, eggs/sausage/cereals/waffles/dougnuts/coffee/juices and a couple other things if I forgot any. Room does have a balcony with a couple chairs which was nice to have. Pool is very clean and maintained daily - open til 11pm or so. Pool is also heated.
I would definitely stay at Hampton Inn on my next trip to Cocoa Beach. Would not even look to another hotel/motel for even a second. Price is very affordable at $105 a night for a top of the class hotel!
Would Stay Here Again
from pacman2033too expensive for what you get
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat for a family
from DisneyGal65The whole building is only one room wide so the door side of your room has an outside concrete(?) walkway (which keeps the noise down) and the back side of your room has a small balcony. The hotel sits at an angle to the beach and the road and it is wedged between other hotels, but it still has a great view if you are on a floor above the trees. We were on the third floor directly over the pool and were surprised that we could see the ocean in the distance. My eight year old loved watching them clean the pool at night. She thought she was a spy!
The room was very clean, as were the rest of the hotel and the pool. It was also very quiet considering the number of children there.
The breakfast consisted of biscuits and gravy, or ham or sausage, eggs, donuts, muffins, bagels, fruit salad, fresh fruit, waffles, oatmeal, etc. and was kept filled until 10:00 a.m. In the evening we enjoyed the complimentary coffee and hot chocolate. They also had tea bags.
The guest laundry was very convenient to our room and clean. The work-out rooms looked nice too but we didn't use them.
The half-block walk to the beach was enjoyable on the private path. The girls enjoyed the walk. On our last day there was a man renting chairs and umbrellas at the end of the path. The other days he wasn't there, just the chairs all stacked and tied together, so not sure what days they are available. When you get back to the hotel there is a mud removal shower near the pool to rinse off the sand. It felt good after being so hot at the beach.
The Hampton is located right on the strip and close to beach shops, fast food, grocery stores, drug stores and the walk-in health clinic. We actually had to go there because both of our daughters got pink eye while there. The clinic was just a few blocks away from the hotel. The doctor (Switzer) was so nice and friendly.
We drove over the bridge to Cocoa to eat a couple of times. Takes only five to ten minutes or so and there is a bigger selection of food. There is also a large shopping mall on that main road just a mile or two after crossing the bridge. We didn't have time for it, but it looked really nice.
We had two small complaints. The key cards didn't work very well. Just about every other time we tried to get into the room or the pool area we had to do it several times. Not a big deal unless you are carrying a million things up from the beach. The second complaint was that the fridge didn't get that cold. Again not that big of a deal, but we had purchased food at the store trying to save trips to food places and then were afraid to eat some of it because we weren't sure it had been kept cold enough.
Still, I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Cocoa Beach.
Not beachfront, but nice anyway
from Kathryn0When we arrived, we were greeted by a helpful staff, they were prepared with information about Cocoa Beach and gave us a guidebook to use during our stay.
There are two computers in the lobby for guests to use to check email, etc - their use is complimentary.
The pool is comfortable and fresh-water showers are just inside the gate when you return from the beach.
The rooms are average. I've got nothing negative to report. However, there was a strong flowery smell - not offensive, just strong. Didn't go away. Masking something perhaps? Wasn't that big of a deal to us - but might be to someone else.
They go the extra mile with their complimentary breakfast buffet. There are usually two hot food items, coffee, several different juices, milk, doughnuts, muffins, cereals, fresh fruit. Basically, something for everyone. It's not gourmet, but it is free.
I felt it was worth the extra few dollars to pay for a view. Even though condominiums block part of the view, turning to the right a little gives you a pretty ocean picture. You're not close enough to hear ocean sounds, but still nice.
Several fast-food restaurants are within walking distance as is Ron-Jon's. We ate dinner at I-Hop one evening and it was very good. Believe it or not, I highly recommend this particular restaurant. Food: Excellent; Restaurant: Clean & Homey; Service: Outstanding. Seriously, worth the walk.
Had the rooms been just a little nicer, I would have given five stars, but four out of five ain't bad. I'm looking for a beachfront hotel for next time, but if that were not a priority for me, I would definitely stay here again.
Great Place to stay and good breakfast!!
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe breakfast buffet is worth the stay -- so much food and its included with the room.
Great view
from AztecBoltFanGreat Pre-Cruise Stay
from Cruisedogs2What a nice surprise the Hampon Inn was! Large king bed room with sofa, microwave, mini-fridge, balcony with ocean view, nice pool area, and very friendly and helpful staff. We called the front desk for more plastic cups and tissues and within 5 minutes they were at the door. The room was exceptionally clean and the bathroom was laid out very well. The bedding was nice although the bed was not quite as soft as I would like most people would find it great.
The breakfast the next morning was more than a continental breakfast with all kinds of pastry, muffins, eggs, fruit, juices, and coffee.
We will most definately stay at the Hampton Inn next year.
Enjoyed our stay
from kathy47Top Local Tips for Cocoa Beach
Driving is easy but use the shuttle` Driving in Cocoa Beach is really easy, but we used the shuttle from our hotel Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach for 5 bucks each. We left our car at the hotel (free parking!) and saved a ton, because Port Canaveral charges for car parking. The trip to the port is really easy and quick, but the shuttle was worth the $5 for sure.
Hampton Inn Hotel Specials Page The hotel we stayed at had a "specials" page on their website. we got a great deal on the stay with a package there. I usually don't like packages because you have to go to differnet places to redeem, but this was a package put together by the hotel, so all tickets and package stuff was there for us at check in. really easy to set up the trip and activities all in one call.
Kennedy Space Center If you are military family, this attraction does not offer military discount at the door. But you can get one if you go to the local Air Force Base prior to going and get a discounted ticket there (not sure where on the base because we didn't know this before going). Also, check out the Space Center flyer that is found at many locations in the area...free, it has a coupon in it for 3$ off admission. Also, it covers a large area, if you have a large group, I would advise walkie talkies to stay in contact if you get separated.
