Historical Traveller Reviews of Doubletree Oceanfront Hotel
Relaxing vacation at the Doubletree Cocoa Beach
My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree Cocoa Beach for 4 days and three nights on October 30th-November 3rd. After reading several of the not so positive reviews, we were absolutely delighted to discover that this was a really beautiful hotel on a nice beachfront spot in Cocoa Beach. For $99/night that we paid, we received a 5th floor room with a balcony overlooking the ocean- you could open your sliding glass door and listen to the waves crashing on the beach. The pool area is small but absolutely immaculate- you can see that it was re-done recently, with extensive elaborate brickwork. My husband used the gym several times during our stay- it was small but usable. We were included in a nightly cocktail hour from 5 to 7pm as Hilton Honors members, which included a few buffet items, and beer, wine, and some hard liquor- we really enjoyed this daily! We did not partake in the continental breakfast which was also included in our stay, so I cannot comment on that. This hotel was more than we expected- its location was great, parking was free, and the staff was nothing but accomodating. We were given our free chocolate chip cookies upon arrival, which were delicious. A day or two later, we asked at the front desk about purchasing them, and were given two more, for free! I definitely recommend this hotel, and will be back for future vacations. It was the off-season, so the surrounding area was pretty quiet, but all of the restaurants were open for business, except for a few on the pier. All in all, a great vacation!!!!!
The hotel is nice enough; sits directly on the beach and the rooms are clean and comfortable, BUT, the staff is rude. I'm surprised to find myself writing this...I'm a little confused after all of the good reviews and the fact that I never have a problem with hotel staff. I guess that it is my turn. I am appalled by how rudely I was treated when I checked in this evening. I was caught off guard and didn't even react. In retrospect, I should have said something. It's really a shame because the hotel is in a convenient location and for the money, it is nice.
Because of how rudely I was treated, it is doubtful that I will consider this location when I vacation in Cocoa Beach next. Judging from the other reviews, the service is spotty, but for the most part reliably good; the luck of the draw I suppose. If you choose to stay here, I hope the staff is nicer to you than they were to me. After reading the review of timral, I am grateful that I do not have problems with my room - really grateful.
We stayed here for 2 nights in August over the weekend. The staff was fantastic--really going out of their way for us. They dropped the price we had gotten online once they saw we were military and even brought my husband's credit card to him when he accidentally left it at the front desk. Above and beyond the call of duty was the front desk staff member who looked up and wrote down pizza delivery numbers for us when we arrived late and well after area restaurants had closed.
The room itself was about what you would expect, but everything worked, there were a ton of cable channels, and we overlooked the ocean (if you really cranned your neck:) The pool was a little cloudy because of the sand from the beach but nicely laid out, and the beach itself is beautiful and quiet. My only complaint, $25 for beach chairs for the day--more than a little excessive.
Stay here--its well worth it.

We stayed here for three nights on an extended vacation in Florida. We had one of the 2 room suites oceanview which was fine for us. We could sit out on our deck and see the ocean just fine. The only disappointment for us was that when I booked the reservation the girl had put our room and my sisters room next to each other but upon checkin she could not honor that as someone was already staying in the room by us and there were no other suites next to each other. No big deal but I wish the girl who booked it would not have told me it would be that way. Our room was very nice, and also the beds were great. Very clean. Housekeeping was really nice and prompt. Front desk were very accomodating and nice also. The gal at the beach was really a sweetie to chat with each day. They have a nice beach and it is not crowded at all. (We were at Sandestin last year so we know what a crowded beach is like) The pool area is small but it was not busy so it did not matter and the drinks were good. The ocean was warm so most were in it!! I would recommend this place to anyone without hesitation. I too was very leary having read others comments especially since I was not only booking for us but for others too. OH THE PRESSURE! I am so glad it worked out.
Hard to Please...Great Stay!
My husband and I just returned from a vacation at the Doubletree/Cocoa Beach. I was a little apprehensive about staying at the Doubletree after reading some of the reviews. I am very particular about the places that I stay. The Doubletree was very clean and beautifully decorated. We had no problem with check in and we were allowed to check in early...2:00. I loved having the mini fridge and microwave in the room. We bought snacks and drinks at the Publix across the street. We had an ocean front room. We spent most of the evenings on the balcony drinking wine. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We didn't eat in the restaurant..so I can't tell you much about that. It was a great trip and the hotel was wonderful. I you are planning on visiting, check out the Sterling Casino cruise. It is totally free. We won money and had a fanatastic time!!!!!
Hotel nicely redone and location not bad. Physical structural facilities relatively aged and out of keeping with the remodel. Plumbing terrible with very little water pressure above 2nd floor. Shower only squirts, toilet barely flushes and plumbing noises abound. Staff initially apathetic upon check-in, but quickly became rude when complaints were presented in a humble and respectful manner. The nicer the customer, the more rude the staff. Restaurant and bar started closing at 9:00 PM for 10:00 closing and patrons asked to leave at 9:40 PM. Overall, no thank you's or appreciation for business. Don't go if you have any self respect, after all they are taking your money!!!
We have just returned from a stay at the Doubletree Hotel in Cocoa Beach. It was absolutely wonderful! We were given a corner room which was very large, and the balconies are perfect. Great view of the ocean. No problem checking in early. Hotel staff, restaurant staff, gift shop owner and the attendant (valet?) outside the lobby were very friendly. I am a very picky hotel guest and the hotel absolutely met all my standards! Would definitely stay here again.
Fantastic in every way!!

My husband and I stayed at the Doubletree Oceanfront in Cocoa Beach and we had the time of our lives. The best stay we ever had at a hotel! The room was beautiful...the bed was so comfy...the people that work there were awesome!!! We are already planning our trip next year and we plan to stay at this hotel for atleast a week! A tropical and romantic paradise. Thank you to all the staff at Doubletree...RINO and CAROL went out of their way to make us feel at home!!!
Love to all,

Nice hotel -- shame about the staff!
We stayed at the Doubletree for one weekend night for a wedding Cocoa Beach. Lovely hotel. Exceptionally clean rooms! Great pool and beach area.
Unfortunately the hotel is drastically let down by it's staff.
We arrived at 1pm, and enquired about an early check in. We were told that check-in was not until 4pm, and that there was not a single room that they could let us into early!? Check-in is at 4pm, and check-out at 11am, so you do not even get 24 hours at the hotel. Eventually we checked back at 3pm and got into our room.
The bar staff are very inattentive. I don't mind waiting to be served if the bar is busy, but when it's not (and when the staff don't even acknowledge you with a nod or glance while you are waiting) it is maddening. The only time we were paid attention was when the barmaid wanted us to cash out so that she could finish her shift.
Same with the breakfast buffet. There seemed to be lots of staff about, but no-one who wanted to help anyone out.

Stay away from taco smell/long john silver
The Taco Bell/Long John Silver is horrible that is nearby. Crappy service and horrible cold food.
The Brevard Zoo
Worth the trip, lots of animals to see, not expensive.
