Great hotel

I am glad I stayed here before I read the reviews. I just had to check our receipt to confirm that we were talking about the same hotel here. We turned up needing a room for one night. The reception staff couldn't have been more helpful, didn't have any sea view rooms so booked us in a room with a great view of the sunset ! (a useful and effective sales pitch!) (and even told us what time it was due that evening!)
Within a few minutes of reaching the room the receptionist was on the phone to check everything was OK, (and also greeted us by our names every time we saw her). Beautiful large, spotless room with separate sofa / chair, kitchenette / TV area. We ended up staying 2 nights. Non smoking throughout, pool was clean and quiet. Not too far to walk to bars and wide range of restaurants. The toilet did block once but a member of maintenance arrived within minutes. I would stay here again and recommend it.

Where to start? They gave away one of our 2 adjoining rooms (One was for our kids)to someone else even though we had a confirmation for over a month. They put us in a smoking room (2 floors above our children) even though the confirmation was Non smoking. We were told they were sold out and it was this or nothing. The following morning, they kept us out of the room we were suppose to have for over 7 hours till it was ready. Toliet didn't flush right. None of the help spoke English so when you asked them to wait 10 minutes until we were dressed, they just never came back or they gave you that "deer in the headlight look" because they "no speak english". The daytime Manager looked at us like we were aliens for complaining and who by the way, walked past 9 people in line for breakfast and grabbed a plate and helped herself to food. This was within minutes after someone behind us complained to her how long we were waiting but were being ignored by the waitresses. Hope you had a nice breakfast Carol. We took our money elsewhere. By the way, there is a gentlemen by the name of Pappy that works in the restaurant. He needs a big raise. The nicest person in the entire Hotel. Maybe they should let him train everyone on Customer Service. This was our second and last time staying at this hotel. We are Marriott Reward customers but will not return to this one.

No where near the beach!

When booking our reservation we were told this hotel was beachfront and our room was an oceanview room. NONE OF THIS WAS TRUE! Don't stay here if you're looking for a beach getaway.. it's a LONG haul to the beach from this hotel. In fact don't even go to Cocoa beach it's one of Florida's dirtiest beaches.
The hotel was beautiful and the rooms were very clean and nice, the pool/spa was relaxing, and the hotel has a nice restaurant and lounge other than the fact that it's not a good choice for a beach getaway the hotel is fine.

We just returned from a long awaited and very needed vacation to Florida. My husband has just completed his 2nd year long tour from Iraq. Needless to say the entire family was ready for a nice getaway. We flew into Orlando and made the drive from Orlando to Cocoa Beach. Upon arrival at the hotel I found the front desk staff less than pleasant, but thats okay we all have have a bad day occasionally. We checked into our room, which was nice and clean. The problems that I had was not with the room or the hotel itself, it is actually with the staff. We soon found out that it was not only the front desk staff that seem to be having a bad day but it seems that most of the employees at this particular hotel were apparently not happy to be there. We were snubbed by many of the maintence workers on several occasions, once in the elevator, once in the hallway and once outside in the courtyard. The housekeeping staff spoke no English whatsoever, which made it impossible to communicate. The worst experience I believe was one day the pool was closed because the anticipation of rain, the Hampton next door was open as well as the Residence Inn that is also located in Cocoa Beach but the hotel employees rufused to open the pool. We decided to walk down to the beach, when we returned we went to use the showers near the pool to wash the sand from our feet, because the pool was locked up there was no way to get to the showers. We tried our best to get as much off as possible and then we had no other choice but to go into the hotel. We encountered a hotel employee who actually looked at us and sighed and rolled his eyes. I have stayed at many Marriott properties, I am actually Silver Preffered and used 100,000 of my points to stay at the hotel and I am very sorry to say this is the very first time that I have been dissapointed in a Marriott hotel. I would not return to this property nor would I ever recommened it to anyone else. Our vacation turned out wonderful because we refused to let a hotel ruin our vacation. I do have to say there was a gentleman named Pappy (I believe) who worked in the restaurant at breakfast. Pappy was very friendly and courteous. I think maybe they should ask Pappy to train the rest of the staff.

One of your best bets in Cocoa Beach...

This is one of the nicer beachfront hotels in Cocoa Beach. It has a walkway to the beach (not directly on the beach, but close enough!).

Pros:
-Free high-speed internet in al rooms =)
-nice, clean lobby area with a bar, restaurant, and little business center
-very reasonable drink prices
-all rooms have balconies
-good location, you can walk to Subway, chinese food, and the only starbucks in cocoa beach!

Cons:
-older building (may remind you of I Dream of Jeannie era)
-very limited pool space (we weren't able to get chairs or loungers hardly ever)
-very slow elevator, but didn't really bother me. may bother some.

I grew up in Cocoa Beach, and will tell you that the best place to stay is the Royal Mansions. But the minimum stay there is 7 nights (if this applies to you, please stay there..it is wonderful!). The next best place is the Radisson by far! The Radisson has a GORGEOUS pool area and is much newer and modern. BUT, the Radisson is accross the street from the beach, and you can't walk to it. That said, the Courtyard is probably the average local's 3rd choice for the price range.

I would recommend this hotel for sure. However, do try to go over to Radisson's pool and lay out. Also walk down the beach about 4 blks toward the pier and have a drink at Sandbar. Enjoy your trip!

No complaints

We stayed for one night in April. It was just as we expected. The room was clean and a good size, there was free internet access in the lobby (2 computers), and the staff were extremely helpful.

Other than the proximity to the beach, there's nothing particularly exciting about the hotel - but certainly nothing to complain about!

Very Pleasant

My wife, 3-year-old, and I stayed here for just one night before heading over to the Disney area. While it's just a humble little 3-story hotel that's basically situated in the middle of a parking lot, I, for some reason, found it to be very attractive, with its warm yellow tones, green roof, and balconies. The lobby, bar, and pool area, while just barely big enough, have a very clean, comfortable feel to them. The restaurant was a decent size, but I must say the breakfast buffet we had was pretty lousy-tasting. The waitstaff, while grossly understaffed, were very pleasant though, so it almost made up for the food.

Hotel is in a great location - on the beach side of the street, so you don't have to walk as far to get onto the beach itself. I liked the rooms. Like the rest of this hotel, they're small, but very tastefully decorated. To me, the balcony was the nicest feature. It was pretty big with a table and chairs on it. It was nice to just sit out there at night and soak in the warm Florida beach air.

This is a very pleasant, and affordable, hotel and I happily recommend it.

Enjoyed the stay here. When I arrived, I had my sleeping son in the car, called ahead, and they had everything ready for me when I walked in late at night with my son so I could go straight to my room. Good rooms, parking, and area restaurants. No, hotel is not right on the beach, but really close. You go out the back door to the pool, go past the Hampton Inn about 100 feet to the boardwalk/beach access trail that is a short trail to the beach. So no crossing of any road, just a short walk that is really not a problem. At the beach, you can rent chairs or umbrellas. Saw plenty of dolphins in the ocean, nice beach. Everyone at the beach was kind, too. Use the pool shower facility to wash up before returning to your room. Definitely would return again.

I stayed at the Courtyard Cocoa Beach a few months ago with some colleagues from work. I was very convenient to the beach and nearby shopping. I also really liked the fact that they had a business center, which made it very convenient to get work done.

We only stayed one night but wish it could have been longer. We had a great big room with a jacuzzi and a private balcony overlooking the pool. The room was clean, the bed was good, and it was relatively quiet. Parking was a bit tight because the hotel is doing renovations now, but we were able to find a space without too much hassle.
The hotel doesn't post signs to the beach, which was a bit of a head-scratcher, but we found it eventually. The hotel shares its beach access with the Hampton Inn next door -- neither hotel is directly on the beach, but it's a short walk to get to it so it's not a big problem.
We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't vouch for the food, we ended up driving to Cocoa to get dinner the night we were there. I can say that the hotel is within a short drive of many restaurants so finding a place to eat shouldn't be a major problem.
If you're staying there I definitely recommend a visit to the Kennedy Space Center. It's about 15 minutes or so from the hotel, we went there and really enjoyed it.

Top Local Tips for Cocoa Beach

Bosston Beef & Seafood This is a little joint on A1A you'd probably never think to enter unles someone told you about it. If you like New England style shellfish it's a great place to eat. Fried clams, fried oyster, fried shrimp - DELICIOUS. On Friday you can get Ipswitch Clam Steamers a real treat when you live down in Florida. I highly reccomend it.

Budget Impressed Take photos of your car before you drive off. This can be proof that you didn't ding it.. if it was already there. We never had that problem with Budget, but I still took pictures before because of nightmares other friends have told me about.

Beach It was cloudy and cool the day we were there so it wasn't a great beach day. The beach isn't the nicest beach I've been on but it's still better than being at work. If I'm on a beach by the ocean, I'm happy!
