This is the best small resort we've ever seen. From a pool that was absolutely spotless and the beautifully maintained grounds to the dock where you can fish in the bay, to a free laundry room with top of the line washers and dryers and FREE detergent, to the kitchen with new first rate appliances to very comfortable beds and a comfortable sleep sofa, (that's hard to find) the East Shore Resort was truly remarkable. It was easy walking distance to the entire east end of Clearwater Beach with all the shopping one could stand and everything you'd ever need. We plan to stay for two weeks the next time we go. It was just fantastic.

Top Local Tips for Clearwater

Walking to the Beach Bring a wagon. We packed all of our beach gear: Sand Toys, Umbrella, Towels, Lunch.

Siesta Key About 50 miles from Clearwater Beach - the whitest, finest sand on the gulf - 99% quartz. Huge, wonderful beach. Bring a ziplock baggie and bring some sand home! Great night life - park and walk to nearby Dacquiri Deck for a choice of 20+ ready-made delicious dacquiri's. They are spendy so try to go during happy hour when they are 2 for 1. (3 p.m. - 7 p.m. when we were there)

Trek Caledesi Island is a must see 5 miles north by ferry, Dolphin encounters were overrated. Dont book during the heat of the summer because of frequent thunder showers, OK!
