Well worth it
We booked our four-night 30th anniversary stay at this hotel. We paid more than we planned to spend per night for lodging but for the sense of security and cleanliness it was well worth it. We stayed in the remodeled tower and since we were not there during busy season we almost felt as though we had the whole place to ourselves. We had an eight-floor room with a gulf view and private balcony. The only other persons we saw on the floor were house cleaning.
We’ve now got both wonderful memories and photos of beautiful sunsets on the Gulf.
The hotel staff were always very pleasant and available for any request.
If you can swing a vacation during the off-season, this is a great place to stay. No beach at the hotel but within a very short walk. The hotel restaurant is a nice place to watch sports and eat but the menu is limited as most sports bars are. We ate breakfast and dinner next door at "Shephard’s" which has an extensive breakfast and dinner buffet.

Highly recommend!
We have just returned from 12 days at the Gulfview Resort and had a marvelous time. The place is under renovations and at times it was a wee bit noisy but after the first day we didn't even notice. The restaurant both inside and out, the tiki bar and the wonderful large pool made our stay so enjoyable. Our room was clean as was the bathroom and large walk in closet. My husband is in a wheelchair and the accomodations were very accessible. The service staff was friendly, helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and assured we had a good time. We will definitely go back there. The view from our room wasn't the greatest because of the a/c units below our balcony but everything else including the price more than off set that.

Think twice before booking!
50% of the hotel was under renovation, we were allocated a room that had not been renovated, it was disgusting, feet stuck to the carpet which was stained and had iron marks, chair in room was filthy and stained, room smelt very damp. Bathroom was equally as bad 1/3 of the enamel was peeling off the bath, it was very noisey in the evening as the car park accommodated cars for the local disco's which were empting from 2am in the morning. This was the secomd room allocated to us as we complained about the first one on the second floor as our view was of the air conditioning pumps, etc apart from the noise, the room was equally offensive. We asked if we could possibly be relocated to a more comfortable room, at least one with a carpet we could walk on but the young man on reception pointed out to us that yes, the hotel was 50% completed in the renovation, but unfortunately for us, we were not in one of those rooms, he just wasn't interested. We were so disappointed, it spoiled our holid...Read more
