Top Local Tips for Wilmington

Very close to Longwood Gardens If you are planning a trip to Longwood Gardens, this hotel is only 12 miles from Kennet Square. The drive is straight and the hotel is right in the first few blocks as soon as the city limits start.

Spend an afternoon out at Winterthur Winterthur, which is about twenty minutes up Hwy 52, has one of the largest collections of high-quality American art and furniture (mainly from the 1700s) in the country. Their guides are very knowledgeable and the whole place is set up in period rooms and settings that make it into an art-/history-lovers' disneyland. I am not sure when most people would have an opportunity like this to see so much American heritage and the fine craftsmanship of the era of the American Revolution. Highly recommended
