My husband travels frequently for business, and stays at the Ethan Allen Hotel in Danbury CT. With our hectic work schedules, we decided to combine a business trip with a romantic get-a-away for our fifth anniversary. I thought the Ethan Allen Hotel would be a good choice since it looked so homey and inviting on the website, and my husband said he found the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly.

To celebrate this special occasion, my husband booked a deluxe king suite. Our room was lovely and quite large with its own living area. Even though the room was large, it still had a “cozy” feeling. I think this was because of the Ethan Allen furniture they used. It felt just like home but nicer! The bathrobes and slippers were wonderful finishing touches.

Our weekend included hanging out in the outdoor gazebo and pool area. We also planned a sightseeing trip to the Connecticut Wine Trail. It was a beautiful drive. The only bad thing was there are too many wineries to visit in one day. There was also a wedding at the hotel the weekend we were there and the whole place looked beautiful.

I had time to kill while my husband worked on Monday, but had no car. It was nice to learn that the hotel offered free shuttle service to the Danbury Fair Mall. You can't beat a little shopping at Macy's or Filene's.

If you are going to Danbury the Ethan Allen Hotel is the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure…you will not be sorry.

It's been 20 years It had been 20 years since I was back in Danbury/Brookfield. It was still so beautiful. I miss the rocks and (mountains) hills. I drove as far north as New Milford and went to the Cantbury private school. My girlfriend had her wedding there in the chapel. It was so pretty. The weather was great. Brookfield is like going back in time. Back when it was safe for children to play in front yards, everyone has their American flags out. It is a slower pace there. No one is rushing around. No major roads through the middle of town. It will not wait another 20 years to go back.... I will be back with my family very soon! You need to go to Stew Lenards produce store. It is a cool place.
