Nice Stay in Estes Park

from LisleFamilyof4
Our family of four stayed in Estes Park as part of a Colorado vacation. First off, there is slim to no fancy resorts in the Estes Park area, but there are a lot of hotels in the class of Comfort Inn here. The hotel is located about a 2-3 minute drive to the downtown Estes Park area. The hotel doesn't look better than any other hotel from the road. We were pleasantly suprised, however, to find extremely large, clean, comfortable, and recently re-decorated rooms. The rooms are at least twice the size of a typical hotel room.

The complimentary breakfast in the morning is fine and gets your day off to a good start. There is an outdoor pool with an indoor hot tub, which are showing a little age but were fine with our kids. The inn is family owned and operated, and it is obvious that they take pride in ownership of their hotel. We were happy with our choice of hotel and would recommend this to anyone visting the Estes Park area. Note that we did stay at the Holiday Inn last year, and this hotel was definitely nicer.

nice size rooms

we stayed in the Comfort Inn for 2 nights and had a very good stay. The rooms are above average in size and were very comfortable for our family of 4. The breakfast was good. Hot waffles, muffins, pastrys and cereals. the staff was freindly and helpful. We would definetly stay here again

Great breakfast, weird smell!

from jenkgen
We were traveling with our 15-month-old and wanted a hotel that offered a separate place for her to sleep. The Comfort Inn had a two-level suite, so we were able to put her to sleep upstairs while we stayed downstairs. For the money, though, the room had a strange smell, the towels were small and worn, the refrigerator in the room froze everything we put in it, and the wireless Internet advertised did not work anywhere in the hotel. On a positive note, the contintental breakfast was extensive and well-maintained. On a return trip to Estes Park, we would probably shop around for other hotels with suites closer to RMNP.

Bright spot of our trip

We were ending our trip at Estes Park and picked the Comfort Inn to stay. What a clean, comfortable stay. We have nothing but nice things to say about the family that runs the hotel. From the warm welcome, clean room, nice staff and the great continental breakfast complete with waffles, bagels, muffins, and even hard boiled eggs. Everything was more than we expected. We already made or reservations for our trip this fall!

Best Motel in Estes Park

from A TripAdvisor Member
This is our 5th fall to stay at the Comfort Inn. The rooms were in good shape before, but we were so surprised with what they did this year. New furniture, drapes, wallpaper, spreads, carpet. Not just the rooms, but the public areas too. This has to be one of the BEST Comfort Inns we have stayed in.
The family who runs the resort is always friendly and more than willing to help with any request you have. The staff that supports them is just as great.
I would and do HIGHLY refer them.

A very good place to stay

from like2travel1
My wife and I spent one night here and found everything very nice. Our room was large and included an microwave and refrigerator. The hotel made major renovations last year and everything in our room looked new. Carpeting was new, all walls had new wallpaper, and drapes, furniture and lamps also were new. Our bathroom also was essentially new, with a new countertop and sink, new tile floor and all new fixtures, including the tub. Quality of beds is very important to us and our king size bed had the latest style "plush" mattress, which made it very comfortable. Our pillows also were excellent.

The hotel has many trees on the property, making the location very pleasant and giving the feeling of seclusion. Some of the rooms, including ours, overlooked the field and mountains behind the hotel, which added to the pleasantness of this hotel.

All of the staff were very pleasant, very helpful with dinner suggestions, and very knowledgable about local restaurants.

Breakfast was very good, with hot sausage & biscuits, a variety of cereals, breads, bagels, muffins, juices and coffee.

Overall, everything was very good, and we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful!

We stayed 3 nights, the receptionis were prompt and polite. Rooms have been renovated recently, Large Rooms on the backside Good view from the porch. Plenty of privacy if you have a room on the ends. Really this was a good place to stay no regrets. Wifi worked well. Good bang for the buck!

Great Staff, but

from nolalady0403
Staff was absolutely very nice and great, seemed to be all family, BUT hotel was overpriced for a limited service hotel. I guess the key word is LIMITED SERVICE. While being very familiar with limited service properties, I have never stayed in one where the hotel shut down at 11:00 p.m. in the evening (there was an emergency number and they suggested you could call 911 on their room booklet) and you should know what to expect when you see a plunger in your bathroom for your convenience. While the hotel is a Choice hotel property, they did not honor the Guest Privileges upgrade subject to availability. There was a room available as they charged me $10.00 additional for the upgrade to my room. Breakfast was adequate, but a microwave in the breakfast area would have been helpful to warm the biscuits that went with the gravy. The room was very large and the location convenient. The front desk staff was extremely helpful with their suggestions and opinions on attractions.

Better with an upgrade

from Greg92101
Its hard to judge a hotel over the internet. However Comfort Inn in Estes Park turned out to be pretty good.

We saw what we had booked for $139, which turned out to be a standard room with two queen size beds for us and our two kids. On the ground floor even though we tried to get second floor, and no privacy with the curtains opened, which looked out on the parking lot.

However we upgraded to a second floor $189 suite that had a king size bed, gas fireplace, bathroom and balcony, and then stairs leading to a third floor bedroom, bathroom and mountain view balcony. Much better with two rooms and two TV's to keep the kids (14 and 9) happy.

The continental breakfast was skimpy, with biscuits and gravy being the main attraction for each of the three mornings that we were there.

Estes Park has one of the best views I have ever seen, with beautiful snowcapped peaks all around and a very nice center of town for browsing. It was the best town that we saw in Colorado, compared to Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder, and Gleenwood Springs.

Top Local Tips for Estes Park

Horseback riding Sombrero Ranch offers a great two+ hour breakfast horseback ride with great views of Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park. The staff was exceptionally friendly, and the ride is appropriate for all ages and first-time riders. They offer rides of varying lengths throughout the day as well. Our family (children ages 10 and 11) really enjoyed our experience.

National Park Shuttle Bus Service The National park offers you free shuttle service to all the major hiking trail heads and areas in the park. Shuttles run from the visitor center daily.
