Top Local Tips for Durango
The shuttle Use the shuttle to get around in downtown Durango. It was very crowded when we were there and it would have been very hard to find parking. The shuttle makes a lot of stops and comes by every 20 minutes or so.
Polar Express Train was awesome for young kids We went on the Polar Express Train and it was just like the movie with the old black steam engine pulling up and the whistle blowing. They served hot chocolate and rice krispy treats then they read the book and we go to the north pole. Then Santa gets on the train and visits every kid. Each kid get a bell and it is great fun with dancing and carols being sung the entire way back to durango from the north pole. It was great. Just like the book/movie. we loved it our kids ar 5 and almost 3 and I have never seen them be so good. The last train at 8:15 was great with the full moon we could see the hills full of snow and the river that we rode along. I must do if you have kids.
