It was my great misfortune to have spent two nights at this hotel. In room internet service was no existant. I was moved to three different rooms in an attempt to find one that had internet, a working air conditioner and sinks that would drain. After the second night I left in discust. Employees were ill tempered and poorly trained. I travel extensively in my line of work am not very demanding. All I ask is a clean room, internet and a hot shower. This hotel failed in all catagories. If you plan to spend the night in Denver stay wawy from this hotel at all cost.

Fan of the Westin

I stayed at the Westin Tabor twice in one month. Both stays were marked by not only great rooms but also great service. I arrived for my first stay around 9:30 pm. I was exhausted from a long road trip. The check-in clerk greeted me with a smile, listened to my complaints about my road trip, put me in a great room, and sent a complimentary bottle of wine to my room. The room I got for the second stay was nice but in a part of the hotel where I could hear street traffic. They allowed me to change rooms twice. The service I received at this hotel is the best I have ever encountered. I will definitely stay there again.

Great Room

from warmkks
The room was awesome. Very tastefully decorated. Only stayed for one night and was perfect location to walk to Coors Field. Only drawback was the price of parking. I was under the impression that parking was included....if so, I had no proof of that. Parking attendant wouldn't let me exit until I paid $13 !!

Westins are great, this one is OK

from annievee
Staff, excellent! from the door to the front desk to room service staff. Friendly, courteous, helpful Can't be beat!

Rooms have been renovated, but to be quite honest still a little tired. Furniture was not the greatest, mini bar was hard to open, towel hangers almost ready to fall off. Only complaint about service was maid service on the first night. Didn't empty garbage, left a half made bed with pillows on the night table... other nights housekeeping was great!

I had an upgraded room on the preferred guest floor with an AMAZING view of the mountains and clock tower. As always the heavenly bed is great. In the evening you hear soothing jazz coming from a peformer on the pedestrian mall through windows that open. Quite nice.

Very nice being so close to the pedestrian mall and the free shuttle bus! Great location! Starbucks on the lower level with wireless access was sweeeet.

Given my experiences with many Starwood hotels the hotel itself was quite average, the staff really made up for it.

The Westin is heavenly!

I love Westin hotels. . . and this one is no exception. The heavenly bed is like sleeping in my own bed at home. Pillow-top mattress, tons of feather pillows, down comforter. . . and all white! Beautiful and comfortable. Lobby is really nice, too. You can easily walk to 16th street mall and hop on the free shuttle to get to lots of great shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. This is a great hotel that is consistently great.

Wonderful place

My husband and I spent a night at the Westin Hotel - we are from the Denver area but wanted a night away without the kids - the hotel was great - we parked our car and walked everywhere - the room was large (with windows that open) and of course the bed was indeed "heavenly" - bathroom was also very large - Starbucks coffee in the room - we had a beautiful day so the outdoor/indoor pool was inviting - my husband used the hot tub and the exercise room - we even enjoyed the lobby bar with some friends later in the evening - I would definitely recommend this hotel and will surely go back again.

Perfect business hotel

from F.R.M.
I spent one week in Aspen for ski holidays. On my way back I spent one night at this hotel. Very friendly staff, great large rooms and I loved the heavenly bed. Also the location is perfect. The hotel had been renovated a short time ago and the result is perfect. I know the other hotels like the Brown Palace or Teatro. But in my mind you will get here the best hotel for your money.

Good business hotel

Stayed here for one night while on business in Denver. Although it was a few days before the NBA All-Star break, I received a good room, decent service and would certainly come back to the hotel for either business or pleasure when in the area.

Good Choice for Denver.

from Lambdachi6
Hotel is centrally located in downtown Denver. Excellent fitness facility and pool for a hotel with $10 option for a pass to full service gym next door. Clean, recently renovated rooms. Good Service. Only downside is no Executive lounge for business travelers and platinum starwood members.

Very nice!

from loribellej
We stayed at the Westin for New Year's Eve, so we payed a premium price. But we weren't disappointed! The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom was spacious with lots of clean white towels. The bed was really plush and wonderful. We could see city lights and the mountains from our room.
This hotel is attached to the Tabor Center on the 16th Street Mall, which houses many shops and eateries, including the ESPN Zone. What a wild place to eat...the kids absolutely loved it! It is also a less than a block to the Cheesecake Factory, and close to Larimer Square and it's restaurants and Comedy Club.
We are Denver natives, and have stayed at other hotels downtown. We think the Westin is one of the nicer places we've stayed, although like I mentioned, it wasn't inexpensive!
The parking can be pretty costly, but it was very convenient to use the valet. ($24 day, $21 Friday and Saturdays)

We booked this through hotwire, so that may be why we got what we got. The rate was $89 or so. When we arrived, we parked ourselves (didn't want to pay for valet for one night) and somehow ended up across the street--the garage is underground and not very well marked. We checked in and were told "Oh, you booked this through hotwire. We have to give you double beds." Not a problem--I knew beds weren't guaranteed. They put us in a handicapped accessible room, which was okay because it was quite large. The beds were okay--I was expecting something otherwordly, but they're really just a lot of feather pillows and comforters. My bed at home is about as comfy. The bath was fine, until you had to use the shower. It did not drain at all so by the time you were done taking a shower you were standing in 3 inches of water--yuck. Made the "heavenly bath" experience not so heavenly. Overall, a nice hotel, but not anything exceptional.

Top Local Tips for Denver

The Arts scene You are right next to the Mall shuttle and there are also horse and bicycle buggies to get around. You are within EASY walking distance to the Denver Center for the performing arts and close to Six Flags Elitch gardens in the summer.

Great Brazilian Steakhouse Nearby Great eatery about five blocks from the Westin. A Brazilian Steakhouse in a refurbished cold storage warehouse. It is located between the baseball stadium and railroad station next to the tracks. Great food and service!

denver the Westin hotel is in a great location downtown....i took a public $8 bus from the airport and it let me out right downtown 1 block from the hotel.....if i was to return to Denver, i would stay at cherry creek, where the large mall is located.....there isn't much to do in downtown Denver!!
