The Grand Hyatt Denver just misses
from leesquinnEnjoyed our stay; weekend rates a plus!
from hrhdhdGreat hotel in a perfect location
from SRMinDCThe bathroom was very large, with lots of "ledge space" around the tub for storing items. The showerhead and water pressure were also very nice.
Unlike other reviewers, I found the hotel to be quiet and attractively decorated. The staff was very nice and helpful, as well.
The walking track and tennis court on the roof were a nice touch, although the fitness center did look a bit small.
The only negative was the parking. It was very expensive and the attendants were not able to grant me in-and-out privileges on the weekend. So, each time I drove out of the structure I paid at least 5 dollars, sometimes 10. I asked the front desk about this and they were not able to help since the garage is not owned by Hyatt.
Overall, I was really impressed with this hotel and would stay again!
Take a pass on the Grand Hyatt Denver
from elmarko"Grand" Hyatt Denver. Although the room was excellent and recently refurbished, the hotel was lacking any personality, and we sensed that from the moment we checked in, walking through the bland, airless lobby! Their showcase restaurant 1876 is a must miss. Hotel staff from bellmen to front desk personnel were indifferent and not very helpful. One bellman even bumped into a guest exiting an elevator, while attempting to have an absurd conversation with me. The building must have been built with paper mache since there was absolutely no sound installation and street noises easily carried up to the 23rd floor! We heard doors slamming on our floor at all hours! Also had dinner at a highly touted restaurant in Larimer Square called Bistro Vendome. Don't believe what the guidebooks tell you. The food was average at best with tables on top of each!!!!! Another MUST MISS! On the good side, do go to the new North restaurant in Cherry Creek North. Fabulous food and great service at very reasonable prices. Marvelous atmosphere and people watching.
Nothing Spectacular
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe location of the hotel is excellent; just one block from 16th Street Mall. However, for over $120.00 a night you would expect to see more accommodations: The breakfast buffet was pricy, LAN connectivity was $9.95 a night, even the bottled water in the room was $5.00 a bottle!
The pool and exercise area was okay, although they both were small. It would not be an exaggeration to state this hotel was not nearly worth the money spent. If your main concern is hotel location and appearance, and you do not expect much bang for the buck, by all means stay here.
“business package”
from A TripAdvisor MemberAfter being rather annoyed about some of the things the rooms and staff were fantastic, the bed in my room was hands down the nicest hotel bed I have ever slept in. I was happy to find I was able to open the windows in my room on the 24th floor for some fresh air. The bathrooms were very clean, equipped with a phone, the shower/tubs nice and large.
Would come back if I could get a good price, $520+ for two nights is to high if I am paying for it.
Loved Everything about the Hyatt!
from A TripAdvisor MemberNice Hotel
from A TripAdvisor MemberGood location and Price
from ConnorWe had a newly refurbished corner King Room. The room is a nice size and beautifully decorated.
The pool area needs to be renovated. However, the lobby and bar area are very nice.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this hotel (if you get a newly refurbished room).
Very Nice Place
from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Denver
Buenos Aires Pizzeria was yummy Walk or drive from the hotel to the Buenos Aires Pizzeria near the intersection of 22nd Street and Larimer Street. They've got killer empanadas (the blue cheese and onion was our favorite), and the pizza was really tasty, too. They had a lot of gelato flavors to choose from. Very reasonable prices, and the friendly wait staff offered great recommendations. We'll definitely be heading back the next time we're in Denver.
Taxis are a no no Use the bus or rent a car. Taxi fares are really outrageous
Denver Mint Check out one of the US money factories. A very cool stop where you will see money being baged by the sackful and learn about how we mint money for us and several other countries. Located right downtown - easy to get to.
