The owners of the motel were very friendly and very helpful.They were there to answer any questions,give directions, and suggested places to eat.Our room was very clean,cool,and was always redone when we came in for the night.The price was very good and centrally located to the downtown area, i would highly recommend the Mecca Motel,

Very helpful family running the motel. Gave us directions and suggestions for sightseeing. They have taken good care of their motel, very relaxing stay, clean rooms. I actually extended our stay and hope to come back next year.

Nice place, close to everything we wanted to see. Clean rooms, the owners were very helpful and friendly. They sure take care of their place.

As I waited in the parking lot for friends to arrive, so everyone could check-in at once. A employee came out and photographed my vehicle. I walked up to the office to let them know what I was waiting for, the door to the office was locked (during business hours). I attempted the buzzer from outside and was ignored. I went back to my vehicle to wait for everyone. The so-called owner approached my vehicle to question me. Talk about shoot first, ask later. This is unmistakably a motel to side step away.

Top Local Tips for Colorado Springs

Don't bother with Colorado Springs on a Sunday!! We went into downtown Colorado Springs on a Sunday afternoon and were disappointed to realize that EVERYTHING is either closed outright or closes really early on Sundays. I've never seen such a big city's (over 300,000 people) downtown so completely dead at any time of day or night. Maybe it's busier during ski season?

Most excellent dining in Old Colorado City La Baguette!!! On main street in the heart of the city right across from the carriage ride and the park. Excellent prices, fantastic food, great staff and the most excellent breads and pastries ever. The owner, Antoni Bog, has a great thing going and the fresh baked breads are available to go and are prepared each night for the next day. The daily specials run under $10 with a drink and we were blown away by what we got. It's an excellent place to sit and chat over food, dessert or just a glass of wine and is well worth every penny!

Nice place to visit!! Colorado Springs and especially the surrounding areas ie: Manitou Springs, Pike's Peak, Garden of the Gods, Cave Dwellings, etc. are full of rich heritage, excellent sights, good deals for those that can slow down, breath deep and take time to soak in the beauty of the place. Get lost in the fine shops and galleries (Range Gallery is awesome) in Manitou Springs, take the Cog train to the top of Pike's Peak (the drive in the car was most beautiful though), cruise over through Buena Vista or Cripple Creek and definitely stroll through the Old Colorado Springs main street and get lost in the shops for hours.
