Disappointment at Doubletree

My family stayed at the Doubletree in Colorado Springs in July 2010 for 3 nights. I had gotten what I thought was a good deal on-line by prepaying ahead of time. I had stayed at other Doubletrees and the rate seemed like a bargain for around $95 a night. However, this was like no other doubletree I have stayed at before. It was dated, the ac in the room did not work well and when it was on made a high pitched annoying noise, the door handle between our room and the adjoining room would fall off with just the slightest of bumps which did not make us feel to safe. The staff was non-existant and when I went and found one to ask a question they were not at all friendly. There were no cookies because they were "expecting more people to check in" - whatever - we were checking in and I am not sure what their reasoning was. As a condition of getting the lower rate, there were no refunds or changes allowed once the reservation was made or we would have left after the first night. The kids enjoyed the pool.
