Beautiful and great price!

from BarbieNRockers
The only sad part about staying here was that we only stayed one night! The views were beautiful, the hotel was beautiful and the price was affordable at only $104 a night. If you're visiting Colorado Springs, I highly recommend this place and I am looking forward to returning there myself.

Gorgeous Views

from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is just beautiful with gorgeous views of the mountains. The staff was excellent and the hotel very clean. The only reason I can see that it would not be a 4 star is that many of the rooms need a little TLC with painting and such. We had the "champagne buffet" on Sunday and while it is a little pricey the selections of foods was tremendous. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Nice hotel in a beautiful area

from travelerfromsj
We stayed here for 2 nights, booking our room off of Expedia. Keep in mind that this hotel is a conference center, so it’s easier to get rooms on the weekend. This hotel is very large, with the rooms built onto a hillside so that the balconies have views of a valley and beyond that, Cheyenne Mountain. We were unfortunately on the first floor (Elk Lodge) so we had a view of some roof construction, trees, an air conditioner, and Cheyenne Mountain (see picture). If a view matters to you, ask to be put on the second or third floor!

The room itself was elegant and roomy. There are two sinks with mirror (one outside of the bathroom), plus makeup mirror, hair dryer, coffeemaker, ironing board, and robe (although only one). Comfy bed and pillows. There were 2 desks and 3 chairs total in the room, plus 2 chairs on the balcony. Service seemed friendly.

We walked down to the country club and used the adults-only swimming pool and hot tub, which was really great. No one was there on Friday night, and we also had use of the locker rooms. It’s quite a walk down to this pool though (I took a picture of the resort from the country club). The grounds and golf course were nicely landscaped.

We had dinner in the Mountain View dining room one night. They only offer an expensive buffet ($29 per person!) and the food was only so-so.

I would definitely stay here again, but I would eat offsite.

Loved the View!

We loved staying here. The view from our balcony was of Cheyenne Mountain!! Fantastic. We got lost trying to find the resort and learned that it is located in a very affluent part of town. So we felt very safe. They had an indoor and outdoor pool and a golf course nearby. We did not use these facilities.
Our only complaints are little…we found lipstick on one of the coffee mugs. I had to put a note in it that it was dirty before they replaced it with another. Also we didn’t get our newspaper delivered until our 3rd night. We were not impressed with the buffet breakfast.. it was over priced. The bagels were gummy.. the eggs a bit over cooked. The only saving grace was the view.
They do offer turn-down service which we took advantage of.. which was a nice touch.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone. You are close to all the local sites, Pikes Peak only took us 30 mins, Garden of the God, 20mins and Manitou Springs was right near there. Again great hotel.

Excellent hotel with great pool and mountain views

from ChiFamily
We enjoyed a great stay here with our two elementary school age kids. The lovely Cheyenne Mountains in the background make this a beautiful setting. Large rooms, reasonable rates, excellent food at the buffet style meals. Lots to do and near tons of attractions. The hotel has a very nice pool plus guests can use the country club faciliites next door, which include an Olympic size pool, enclosed pool, tennis, basketball and more. Unfortunately, during our stay there was a huge rainstorm which flooded the two country club pools and golf course so we could not use them. August seems to be a big month for rain in this area. But, we still had the hotel pool. The kids liked finding chocolates on their pillows each night. One nice option is to join the Summit club which pays for itself with a free night's stay plus lots of meal discounts. We would return if we go back to this area.

Ok

Room was Ok, No fridge, Coffee pot was not very good. They put the coffee pot in the bathroom. Not a nice spot for this. Shower water was weak. Main door wouldn't close half the time. Good things about the room it gets very dark. No light from outside. Couldn't hear much of anything around us. Good night rest from that.
The Food was perfect. Very nice. Do pay top dollar though. Breakfast and Dinner Buffet well worth it.
Pool was ok, One by the lodge was little small. Ran out of towels to quick. Had to call the front desk to get someone down to fill this up.
Front desk little short when asked questions. Maids come in your room seems like every four hours to check on things. Way to much and if you don't have your sign up they will come in. One maid almost got a eye full. LOL. We didn't have a sign to hang up to keep them out.
GOLF WAS GREAT!!!!!!! Private course other than hotel guest. Very nice. The greens don't break as much as they look. Played late in the afternoon. Lots of wind then.

Report on the Resort

Cheyenne Mountain Resort - here is a Nice hotel with a few problems. For the price of 104.00 + tax, (misc room fee is $10 per night - supposedely for internet fees)? This place has Beautiful landscaping, our view of Cheyenne Mountain was great, All the rooms (I think) face this mountain. There is a lot to do within the facilities, golf, fishing, pools, you would probably never have to leave here if this is your thing. There is some kind of aquatic building, that we never did go into. Room Service was GREAT- the food was wonderful, but the fridge we reserved was not available and they gave us a broken cooler instead. When we asked for a refill of the ice, which had melted in 1 day, they threw in extra ice without pouring out the water- some help that was. All rooms are equiped with a spot for fridge and microwave but they do not put them in the rooms, maybe at one time they did- now you have to ask for everything, therefor pay out more tips and room charges. The low flush toilet was a real problem, had to flush several times! Beds were comfy, rooms are quiet. The guest service should supply the guests with more info on the lodge, and install seperate hot tubs for the single couples. Only one pool in such a big place, feels like they are trying to get the bucks out of people, but don't supply the extras. We were comfortable here, but for the money, we have stayed at better 'supplied" hotels, with just as nice room service, and ammenities. Leave the children at home, this is really for the adults.

not customer friendly

from A TripAdvisor Member
Definitely not a kid friendly resort. Swimming is not allowed before a certain time but it is not in writing anywhere. Pool staff was rude to my husband . For what we paid for our room i expected better service. Rooms were clean and they brought a playpen/crib to the room for my 9 month old which was nice. There is a misc room fee that you find out about at time of check out that bothered me some. Wouldn't stay here again.

My husband and I recently spent a week in Colorado Springs. We spent half the week at the Broadmoor and the rest at the Cheyenne. Nestled in a residential area, the Cheyenne has great views of the nearby mountains. The lobby is gorgeous, just what you would imagine a Colorado lodge to look like. One of the days we stayed there, it snowed so hard we couldn't go anywhere. I cuddled with a good book in front of the roaring fire in the lobby. We had breakfast every morning at the restaurant. It was the best breakfast we had all week, very reasonable and delicious. The room we had in Dove Lodge was large, with a great view of the golf course and the mountains. There was nothing incredibly special about the room, although the bathroom was twice the size of the one we had at the Broadmoor. The service was polite and prompt. We had a problem with the TV set. It was fixed very quickly. The service man even left us a note explaining what had been the problem. Overall, it was a good experience. We wouldn't hesitate staying here again. My husband felt more comfortable here than at the Broadmoor. For me though, I left my heart at the Broadmoor!

Poor customer service

Hidden Charges!! rooms were below average! Great location and great view still don't compensate for their lack of communication

Top Local Tips for Colorado Springs

Rent a car and explore the Springs! Advantage car rental was super-cheap and great value. I got a mid-size Dodge Charger 4-door for $45 (included tax and fees) for a long weekend (Fri 11am-Mon 11am) They picked me up from the airport (8 minutes away). Get a map from your hotel because the one they supply stinks. We saw a lot of great sites and enjoyed the restaurants and driving to the top of Pike's Peak. Pike's Peak is not a difficult drive. Just take your time and ride in low gear on your way down the mountain.

Garden of the Gods Make sure you visit Garden fo the Gods. You can bike it, walk it, or drive...just make sure you visit it. It's beautiful.

foodies alert Blue Star is a must stop..not expensive, not pretentious but terrific. near Broadmoor area.
