Great Views from the Hotel Room
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I went to the resort and stayed in a top floor room for one night. The room was very pleasant, and the liftside view from the bedroom and kitchenette windows was amazing! The resort is situated on truly gorgeous property right next to the mountains. Definitely request an upper floor room with a liftside view.
The kitchenette was stocked with all of the amenities, which were of very decent quality. The only negative were the bathroom sink faucets. They didn't skimp on anything in the room, including the dishes or silverware, so it was surprising that the faucet knobs in the bathroom were of such poor quality. The faucets leaked and it was really hard to turn the knobs and get a good balance of hot and cold water. But that is such a minor detail. We've stayed in a few B&Bs in Breckenridge and this hotel room was a better monetary deal and it was a better experience than what we've had at the B&Bs. We'll be staying here from now on.

Great for skiiers - not room snobs
from Mammagoose
I have read several other reviews about these condos. We were there for Spring Break '05 - our family of six plus grandmother. Many of these reviews seem really picky about room decor, comfort of the beds, how much parking available, etc. If you want totally "updated" luxury, go somewhere else. If you want proximity to the slopes and main street access that is hard to beat, this place is just fine. I agree with the reviews that say to go for the location, not the ammenities. I agree that it is not the prettiest place inside, that travel through the underground parking is a little wierd, and that the lobby is not particularly impressive. So are you coming to camp out in the lobby or are you coming to ski? Get over it! This place gave us a corner, 2nd floor, 3 bed condo that looked out onto the mountain - spectacular! It was an added blessing that our balcony overlooked the ski school, so Grandma could sit in her chair, drink her Starbucks (she brought with her) and watch her grandkids learn to ski. Hubby and I could pop in and out at will to tweak ski gear, etc. w/o a major trek in those clunky ski boots. Our kitchen was clean and very well equipped with any cooking gear you need. The washer/dryer was a boon for soggy mittens and dirties. We couldn't care less if the decor "looked like something out of the 70s". It was clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate. We were coming to VISIT - not live there! Biggest downside for me and husband was the snowcat beeping under our window at Oh-Dark-Thirty, but a minor issue compared to the view and proximity to the Super 8 Lift. Could it benefit from a face lift? Yes. Was it poor planning to have only one elevator and a treck thru the garage to get to the pool? Yes. Should that discount it as a viable place to stay. Absolutely not. Room snobs go the Hyatt. Skiiers, especially those with kids, should stay here.

We had stayed at the Village last winter and loved our 2 bedroom condo and the location. You could tell the condo was recently renovated. Everything was clean and the people at the Ski Village Resorts management company were extremely polite and helpful. The location is the probably one of the best in Breckenridge, right at the bottom of the lift and walking distance to Main Street. We stayed in unit #3706, which had spectacular views. The unit had new TV's with DVD players. The parking was a bit cramped, but they have free valet when the garage is full. There is a heated pool, multiple jacuzzies, a workout room and games for kids. I understand that not all condos at the Village are the same, so I will definitely ask for this one next time I stay there.
Great for a group
from skimama
We stayed at the Village with a large church group. I was somewhat surprised by the other reviews, as we were very pleased with the accomodations. We stayed in a 3Bdrm condo with 3 couples. The beds weren't all that comfortable, and the unit was somewhat dated, but it was nicely decorated and had a great view. We didn't eat in or watch any TV, so I don't really know what condition the appliances were in. I rated this resort as above average because it is great for a large group. The service was good, and the location provides easy access to skiing, equipment rentals, and food. No shuttles required to get around (although available). Breakfast is easy at The Maggie, which is about 200 yards from the front door and adjacent to the lift on peak 9.
Worst Ski Accomodations Ever
from A TripAdvisor Member
Let me list all the negatives:
1. There are not enough underground parking spaces when the condo occupancy rate is high. Even when a space was available, it is difficult to maneuver a SUV in the parking garage. Signage is inadequate.
2. Our studio condo was adequate in terms of size, but nothing else. The carpet was dirty. The heating controls did not function properly (our room stayed at a toasty 82-85F without opening the windows. Do not plan on sleeping anyone on the pull out sleeper sofa. The sofa mattress was the worst I had ever slept on. We ended up creating pallets for our kids to sleep on the floor.
3. The TV remote did not work, even after changing the batteries. The channel selection was poor.
4. The studio condos were not ski-in/ski-out as advertised. You had to walk 100 yards to the base. There also was no slope side ski storage.
5. My accomodations were apparently not the worst. The night before checkout, I listened to a gentleman vehemently protest his condo conditions. The things he stated made me feel lucky.

The location and staff at the Village Resort were first class. We travelled from Glasgow in Scotland for a 10 day trip and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Apartment was clean and spacious and very well equipped.
Low Class, High Dollar
from The_James_Family
Personnel wise, very helpful and (as others have written) they will bend over backwards for you.
Property wise, what an incredibly large dump. We spent $350/night for a two bedroom unit with a mountain view. When we got to the resort they gave us our choice of different condos. In fact, we actually went around to 6 different condos and took our pick. That in it self shows how hard the personnel try to please their customers.
However, after touring all 6 we were terribly disappointed. They have three different plaza's (buildings) at this resort, and we toured rooms in all three. All the rooms were dated, and all looked like they had been riden hard and put up wet.
We finally decided on one that had a 4.5 rating from their perspective. I'd have rated it a "1". Here's what we found wrong. The ice maker didn't work, and there were no ice trays. The overhead light in the 2nd bath didn't work. It had about 20 strip heaters, so we could never get the temperature regulated. The furniture was old and worn out. The shower door had come off the track. The beds had "0" support, I think my spine actually rested on the slats holding up the mattress. The hot water ran out after one shower. The shower vs. tub valve wasn't working right so most of
our hot water just went down the drain.
I was very disappointed. Let's face it, it was a dump.
In Hawaii last year I rented a private 3 bedroom home with ocean views, a pool, a tennis court, and 2 acres of privacy for the same price as this condo. Do your research in advance. My travel agent really missed the ball on this one and my family paid the price.

May be the worse property I have ever stayed in
from laplume9254
My husband and I could not wait to leave. The location does not outweigh the awful conditions. We stayed in a two bedroom unit (1502) in the Plaza 1 building. This unit needs some serious updating and cleaning. The showers had hair in them, the glass shower doors and tile had mold and dirt in them. The bed was lumpy...probably not updated since it opened. The blankets were old, soiled spread and carpet. Worse of all, there was no hot water. You could not enter the master bath without straddling the toilet to close the door. We needed to leave this unit and move to the hotel portion for one night and this was no better. Awful bed, pillow, shower, TV, and layout straddling the toilet to close the door. The common areas of this property is very dated...something out of a 1970's movie. We attended a business function in one of their conference rooms, and it could have been in that same movie. Almost an embarassment to the company who threw the party. Unless you are an old hippie who does not care about quality and class, do not stay here. You, along with the others we travelled with, will be sorely disappointed to the point of anger. And don't even think of the French restaurant...service was awful, burnt food was presented to us, rancid butter, curdled cream.
Nothing like expected
from A TripAdvisor Member
From the outside I was thinking wow....but then we entered the building. The signage is terrible...the parking is horrible. They have t he nerve to charge you $12 a day to park in a (heated) garage that is so cramped, that if you don't drive a compact car you are in for a surprise. And it is a good thing that the garage is heated, because you have to go through the garage to get to everything. You can't even get to the front desk without going through garage. The room was okay...but was very noisy. The fan in the bathroom sounded like a plane ready for take-off. The tv was very old. Advertised as ski-in /ski-out, after you walk a mile I guess you could call it that. Really Really disappointed in The Village at Breckenridge. I would not stay here again even if it was only hotel in Breckenridge.
Liftside Inn
from A TripAdvisor Member
The best thing about this property is its location to the ski lifts and Main St. My husband, 11 year old daughter and I stayed in a Liftside Inn studio with full kitchen the week between Christmas and New Years. The front desk, activities desk, and parking staff were friendly and helpful. Found the lobby to be dark and plain but upon checkin was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded from a hotel room to a studio (apparently because I requested a non-smoking room and none were available in the regular hotel rooms). Compared to some of the others, our room had been renovated with new carpet and furnishings, but the queen bed and the sofa bed were very uncomfortable and we were happy to head home to our own beds when our three nights were up. Could always hear alot of noise from people walking by in the hall and upon inspection the door did not close tightly. It appeared that prior to our stay a can of soda had exploded on one of the walls, closet door, and part of the ceiling, and we couldn't figure out how the housekeeping staff could miss that when it was so obvious. I would try the Marriott across the plaza next time, which has an equally good location.
