Fair and convenient

from sweetdreamer
The staff was very friendly and helpful and our daily rate $200/night included daily breakfast served in the restaurant which was excellent. They supplied us with terry robes for the jacuzzi which was a nice touch. There's a shuttle to town that is extremely accomodating and will pick you drop you off at a restaurant or pick you up. The location is right next to mountain so you can walk to lift which is A+. My only criticism is that room location with in the property was very awkward since we had to take an elevator and then walk a hallway only to take another elevator to get to our room. It would take 15 mins to get from the lobby to the room which was a hassle.

Overall Good Experience

from A TripAdvisor Member
My family stayed here for a christmas ski trip....the staff are nice and attentive to most needs. The location is convenient to the slopes, and the price good in comparison to other places I looked at. Housekeeping was a little lax at times; that is an area that could improve. But, this is a place I would recommend and would stay at again.

Great Location; Overpriced

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this lodge for 2 nights at the end of December. We booked through the breckenridge.com site and paid $250/night, which included breakfast and a king deluxe room. The beds are ok, however the heating/hot water system is less than desirable. Our room was extremely hot-- and we had turned our thermostat to cold. We finally had to use a box fan and keep the window open a bit. The other reviewers are correct- there are MANY kids at this hotel. We heard kids in the halls both nights. The breakfast buffet is ok- just average. I'd rate this hotel lower, but the location is GREAT. You are across from Peak 9-- which is very convenient to hit the slopes whenever you wish. The front desk staff is ok- when we were waiting two of the employees were loudly complaining behind the desk. If you are just looking for clean, and close accomodations to the ski hill this hotel will do the trick. By the way, parking is $12/day.

t expect quiet nights!

First time ever going skiing or Breckenridge, but I settled on this Lodge for the location and previous reviews.

The Location of the hotel was great. Right across from the lifts.

Our room was situated on the 4th floor, right by the elevator and stairs.

The rooms with double queens are huge! Small bathroom though, but were clean and had a coffee maker and mini fridge. Our balcony over looked the jacuzzi area so it was kinda loud in the evening, but we cranked up the tv. Beds were comfy for our aching bodies.

At night, the only problem was that the walls are thin so you can hear doors slamming, hall conversations, people going up and down the stairs (the elevator broke that night we stayed), but other than that, for the money and location it was worth it.

We've stayed at 5 stars before and we would stay there again!

Packed with Youth Groups

from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at the Great Divide over Christmas Vacation. We were terribly dissapointed with the experience. After paying high season rates, we were sandwiched between rooms of youth groups where 6-8 people were packed in the room. All night long we heard doors slamming and teenagers yelling. Each nght we would call the front desk and eventually someone would go up to try and quiet the kids but as soon as they left the noise resumed. My husband and I booked the ski vacation to escape from a house full of college kids at our own home and instead we were surrounded by unsupervised teens. The pool and hot tubs were unaccessible since they were filled with kids and we literally had to step over lounging bodies in the hall as one youth group checked out and another large group checked in. I was so upset I wrote the management about this experience and did not receive a reply. At the front desk when I talked to them they said we were not the only unhappy guests and one woman came down crying one night. The facility itself is conveninent and kept in reasonably good condition - I had stayed there when it first opened and note some wear and tear but it's to be expected at a ski resort. It truly was an expensive and miserable, sleepless experience and I would never go back there again.

Below Average

from A TripAdvisor Member
I was under the impression that this was a 4star hotel. I strongly disagree. For starters, the concierge or bellmen where never available.
The accomodations where below average. The room was spacious but carpets were disgusting, wall paper was peeling, the bathroom floor was a crap shoot (I never took off my sandals), and the sink/fridge area was falling apart;not to mention dirty. I also must complain about the layout of this hotel. Who ever designed it was under the influence. In order to get to the elevators you must hike to either of the hotle corners; and pray you dont have a room above floor 6. Then you must change elevators. The location is not too bad. You need to cross the street and a parking lot to get to the slopes. The restaurant in the hotel is below average as well but they charge you like it was Cirque 2000. I must say the staff where all very nice and helpful. The hotel shuttle was very helpful and always available (mind you, we went a week before ski season was over. Not to many guest). I would not stay in this hotel again. I am glad I did not pay that much at all. A 4 STAR HOTEL THIS IS NOT!!!!!!!!!!

A wonderful time

from A TripAdvisor Member
I had a wonderful time. First and for most not enough can be said about the staff. The were very helpful, friendly, and willing to go the mile for it's customers. The exercise room was clean with plenty of TV's to keep your mind busy. Even the General Manager was very polite. If the pool is too busy, you can go out to the hot tubs on the deck. The rooms were clean and very big. I also enjoy the fact you don't need to drive.
The staff will take you where you want to go. I would like to thank them for making my stay very enjoyable.

Big Rooms! I stay there again!

from skidawg
Hey, it was great for the price about half of other hotels that are next to the slopes. Big room, nice people, we had two king size beds.
Ski storage was quick and easy! Skiing was just across the street and across a small parking lot then ski down to "quick silver" lift or walk up the street 100 yards to the "beaver run" lift from the ski storage area. Paying for parking was lame, the parking spots a little tight. I would use a different ski rental place than the one on site, they did not have what we wanted. Blue River rental is near and all ways good.
Hot tubs were nice, our trip was great. Did not have the local breckenridge cable channel in room (?).

Nice

from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed there first week of April. The hotel is across the street from lift 6. The lobby area is very nice with a lovely fireplace and chairs for relaxing and warming up. My room was on the 10th floor, it was clean and comfortable; even thou it was a bit difficult to get to (2 elevators). I would stay there again. Hotel staff is friendly.

Not so great

from A TripAdvisor Member
Went there for a conference, and it was trouble from the start. On arriving a little before midnight, I waited over 30 minutes at the front desk before even being greeted by any of the three staff members that were working there, all racing around the place, to check in one party in front of me. When I finally got service, they were very polite and offered to upgrade our room. The room was very big, with good views, but the bathroom was dark and the tub drain was broken, and the complimentary shampoo bottle was open and half-used. The next day, we left our room with the housekeeper cleaning it, and came back about four hours later to find the door still wide open! The staff were friendly, but definitely didn't seem too concerned about customer service!! Would NOT stay there again!!

Top Local Tips for Breckenridge

Rafting We used Breckenridge as a base and then drove to Buena Vista to go rafting on the Arkansas River. Fantatstic expereience, we used Performance Tours and they were great. Highly recommend them.

Perfect day in Breckenridge... Start your morning off with great room service at very reasonable prices then walk it off while enjoying the fresh mountain air on your way to Main Street, a few short block away. If you need directions, grab some maps at the concierge desk in the hotel lobby. After stopping to buy a "Breckenridge" sweatshirt (which you'll need once the sun goes down past those Rockies) enjoy lunch at Bubba Gump's Shrmp Co. where both sea and land lovers will be satisfied. Then grab a huge 1/4 cookie at Mary's Mountain Cookies. YUMMO!

Walk to Main Street-a few short blocks away... Start your day with breakfast in bed delivered by room service (awesome food at awesome prices), then skip the free bus to Main Street and enjoy the scenery and mountain air on your short walk which takes only 5-10 minutes! While on Main Street stop at Bubba Gump's Shrimp Co. for amazing food, and Mountain Mary's cookies for huge yummy cookies. Then grab yourself a Breckenridge sweatshirt at one of the many local t-shirt shops...you'll need it once the sun goes down over those mountains!
