always bring warm clothing! I go to the beach in Ventura at a lot, especially in the Summer and yet I'm always surprised at how cool, even cold it can get late in the day. It can be 95-100 degrees at my house in the SF Valley and an hour away in Ventura I find myself happily wrapped in a big sweatshirt with Ugg boots by 4 or 5 in the afternoon as it can often be foggy or windy at the beach. I've been to the same beach throughout all of the seasons and you never know what you'll get. I've enjoyed warm days in the Winter and cold days in the Summer, so bring layers and enjoy! Also be very careful about food on the beach. The seagulls will surround you like Hitchcock's "The Birds," and if you're not looking they will rip apart your stuff and steal your food. It's hilarious to watch them....unless it happens to you!
