Top Local Tips for Temecula

Weekend trip My husband and I like to arrive in Temecula at 10 am and after a greasy breakfast at Carls Jr. we visit 3 or 3 wineries. Early afternoon we arrive at the pool, order a cheeseburger and take a nap in the sun. For the evening we like to head to the bar at sunset and have our drinks and apps.

Ponte Winery I got married at Ponte Family Estate Winery and it is probably the most charming winery in Temecula, and has an excellent restaurant for lunch, not to mention a fabulous collection of wines. Be sure to stop there during your stay in Temecula.

Wine Tasting I had never been wine tasting. It is a big deal in Temecula. I don't drink so I can't comment on the wines, however there are allot of wineries. There are dozens all close to each other, an easy drive. Some are rather sparse in décor, others are lavish. If you have never been wine tasting this might be where to begin. The people we went with liked a number of vintners. It was raining hard all day and we still had fun. Here's a tip for you. One of the couple we went with noticed that some of the wine offered at the wineries showed up for sale at the local Long's Drug store at slightly lower prices.
