This is an excellent hotel for a short or longer stay, whether for business or to sample the delights of the nearby wineries. The hotel is situated in quiet surroundings with easy access from the highway, but has good bar and restaurant facilities, with particularly good breakfast buffets, especially at the weekend.
An added bonus is the close proximity to the best Thai restaurant in Santa Rosa, if not the state.
I have stayed here on several occasions and the staff have been very friendly and the rooms have been very comfortable. The facilities are very good but could perhaps be improved by wireless internet in the rooms.

Top Local Tips for Santa Rosa

Local Honey Growers Off the beaten path in Santa Rosa is the Bear Foot Honey Company-- on Guerneville Road. They actually make honey here! Honestly, we got lost trying to find the highway and passed a sign stating Honey Tasting -- couldn't resist. Fantastic people and there will be a future website.

beach can be COLD! If you're going to the beach (about 40 minute drive) be SURE to take warm clothing! It was in the upper 90's in Santa Rosa while we were there, but we were in our warm, windproof jackets (packed for that purpose) and were glad we had them! The beach is beautiful - don't miss it, but be prepared.

Jalisco's If you think you like Mexican food, you ought to try Jalisco's on Mendocino Ave across from SRJC, and find out if you really do. The place used to be a burger stand, but is upgraded circa 1980, to have indoor seating. This is not a fine dining experience. If the weather is nice, go eat it under the oaks on the lawn on the junior college campus across the street. Try the carne asada. They have the best carne asada that I have ever had (including several trips to Mexico!)
