Better off Sleeping on the Street; or, Not Just Crazy but Insane

There is too much that went down during our 1 night stay, but let me sum it up this way: there is no sattellite tv, the pool is not heated, there is no breakfast, the parking lot flooded, you have to fight to get extra towels, there are no extra blankets, and there was no heat. The night we stayed there it was 33 degrees that night and the parking lot flooded due to disrepair and you had to wade through 10 inches of water. Try that with no heat. One customer's kids got sick because of this, and the insane owner screamed at her for being upset. When you complain about paying a competitive price for all of this, the owner, who must have some kind of mental illness, barricades himself behind bullet proof glass in the lobby and throws you out of the hotel. Really. I saw this happen to 3 customers, who called the police on him. He threw one customer out 2 times and wouldn't give her the receipt she needed for business expenses. She called the police and he wouldn't give the police the receipt or the contact information they requested for the disgruntled customers either. Really and truly insane, you are better off sleeping on the street than sleeping here. We didn't check the reviews here first, but we should have.

Really Nasty

When I was looking for a place to stay I saw the travel Lodge in Santa Cruz and it looked really nice. But when we got there I was really shocked just how bad the motel was. We got two rooms and my two daughters and my wife hated the place as soon as we walked into the rooms. How can you allow this from such a Brand name like Travel Lodge.
I am a retired US Navy Disabled Veteran who has travel around the world and been to many countires. I have stayed at Travel Lodge from New York to Orlando, to El Paso to Seattle and I have never seen such a dump. The smell was just awful and the furniture looked like it was bought at a garage sale.
I just came back from San Diego, El Paso and Austin and after staying at this motel I will never stay at a Travel Lodge in Santa Cruz ever.
