Great holiday getaway

We took advantage of their holiday shopping package during the holidays. It was a great value. The staff was very attentive and quite accomodating allowing us to check in before the scheduled check in time. The room was clean and the beds comfortable (a major plus!) Everything worked properly. The breakfast was good. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Great Place and Location

As for location and staff you can not beat the Hawthorne Suites in Santa Clara. Very close to everything in the Silicon Valley.

Good, Longer-Term Option

Overall a very nice, clean place to stay. The in-room sink, refridgerator, and microwave plus coffee maker would be especially helpful for extended trips or those days when you simply are not up for eating out. Along with the two queen beds, we discovered that the sofa actually pulled out into another bed, however after sleeping on it I would not recommend it unless absolutly necessary. The complimentary breakfast was very nice, but basic; There were toasters for the cinnomon and regular breads along with coffee, milk, juices, and assorted pastries, bagels and cerals. While there were pool and exercise facilities the hot tub was broken during our stay and there were only a few machines. However, in the lobby they offered VHS-rentals, with quite a wide variety from what I could tell, to go with the in-room VHS-player. The only big issue we had with our room during our stay was the bathroom. There were a couple of missing tiles around the door along with an earwig lying dead on the floor. I was also not a big fan of the showerhead, but I've been told I am rather picky about that. The service was very nice, courteous, and timely with all requests. I would most definatly return, should I ever be in the area again.

Hawthorn Suites totally met our needs

The Hawthorn Suites totally met our needs while visiting family all over Silicon Valley. It was very conveniently located in Santa Clara at El Camino and San Thomas expressway. The hotel provided free wireless internet service as well as complimentary breakfast and happy hour snacks all for a reasonable price. Our studio suite was spacious and comfortable. All of the staff was competent and helpful and made us feel very much at home away from home over the holidays.

I reserved a room for 2 nights for my in-laws to stay in while they visited us for Christmas and I was able to arrange to pay for it in advance. The weekend rates are very reasonable for all that is included. My in-laws were very happy with the room, a handicap room on the first floor that totally met their needs. They loved the breakfast that was included and thought the omlettes were great. The front desk was very friendly and my father-in-law thought Ashley did an exceptional job. Thanks for making our Christmas special.

It was a great place to stay in. I've stayed in many hotels around the bay, yet for the price and the service we got and the hot breakfast and heyy it has a jaccuzy inside the room. Go For It

Extended Service

I really liked the 5 mile radius free shuttle service, free movie library and free food. I really felt like I was being pampered.

I stayed here twice for extended periods of time. The staff is very friendly, the two meals provided per day saved me time and the location is fantastic. There are many stores nearby as well. Some hotels have close quarters, but these rooms are large. Since the work-out room has extended hours, I was able to work out without it being overcrowded.

Great amenities, excellent customer service

Hawthonre Suites has numerous amenities that other hotels simply overlook. For example, they have a free buffet-style breakfast with more than just cereal and toast. Also, they have a free VHS movie check out for visitors; this made our stay outstanding and enjoyable. The last thing I would like to mention is this: we had a problem with one of the facilities at Hawthorne Suites and they not only took care of the problem in a timely, friendly, and appropriate manor, but, for our trouble, they gave us a goodie-bag and a written apology. Obviously, Hawthonre Suites in Santa Clara cares a great deal about customer service and it shows.
I recomend this hotel to anyone staying in the area and my family will stay there again.

Top Local Tips for Santa Clara

Nordstrom Rack! South of the hotel is the Westgate Mall. I went to the Nordstrom Rack (never been to one before) and went absolutely nuts. Shoes and clothing and handbags, galore, all at excellent prices. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely head back and do some more damage to my AmEx!

Santana Row This is a nice pedestrian friendly street with excellent shopping, a variety of good restaurants, and several nice bars. It is in San Jose about 10-15 minutes by car from Santa Clara.
