Top Local Tips for Santa Barbara

fun things to do around that area While it is a little bit out of the way of lower downtown, the Arlington is a GREAT place to see a concert or even catch a movie (go to Opal Restaurant before or after the show for some killer cocktails) The parks are also just down the street

Horrible Steak House - Ruth's Chris To make a long story short, we ate at Ruth's Chris after all of our friends said that we absolutely had to....only to be terribly disappointed. We paid 120 dollars for 2 people (including getting charged for a dessert & 8 dollar bottle of water that we were not supposed to be charged for). The steak was originally undercooked & they just took it back, reheated it & brought it back out. Both of our steaks had very little flavor (just what they use with the butter) & the side that we bought for 8 dollars of string fries were incredibly bad! We must say that their cheesecake was to die for though! That said, I do not recommend Ruth's Chris to anyone who wants to get a good steak meal...if you want to get an over-priced mediocre steak, go here. If not, we wished we had listened to the hotel desk when they said to go to Holdrens or Downeys....now we know for next time!

Ceramics We painted our own souvenir!!!, we bought some things in our trip but this ceramic surfboard its our fave. we painted it in a little ceramic/arts shop on State Ave.
