The taxicab company long-hauled me! Don't use All-Star Yellow Cab--I needed to go to my business meeting which was 4 miles away which I verified via Mapquest and my personal Garmin which I always carry to check the honesty of the cab drivers, the drop on the meters here is $3.50 and $3 per mile which is the most expensive in the country, so for 4 miles, my fare SHOULD have been $15.50 and the cab driver had HIS GPS programmed NOT to use interstates instead of the shortest route so he took me the LONG way thinking I wouldn't know the difference since I'm a tourist. At the end of the trip the meter read $24.50 which was NINE DOLLARS MORE than it should have been and I called him on it. He started to argue with me until I showed him my Garmin, my iPhone GPS and the Mapquest printout, all three of which clearly showed he should have used the interstate to save a LOT of distance and that the trip was only 4 miles and he immediately dropped the fare to $15 which is what it should have been and he knew it and didn't argue.
