Top Local Tips for San Francisco
read my comments all of it just want to inform all the people who wants to visit or planned to visit san francisco city, california, usa. san fran is one of the world’s most expensive city, having said that i also warn all the visitors that please dont expect amenities, facilities and service (guest service) the standard that of las vegas hotels. the amount u pay to stay at the five star hotel in las vegas cant afford a stay at even a “one star” hotel in san fran especially in “union square district”. the crappiest “hotel” starts at at least us$90.00+ in around union square district. which is worst than some of the hostels in your country (in europe) literally . if you are looking for some descent stay in san fran and u desperately want to stay near the “mecca “, “shoppers’ paradise” in union square district please please please dont be stingy i mean really be prepared to spend at least us$250.00 + per night and thats for a two to three star hotel at max. anything less than that u ruined your holiday or whatever. and u should know three star mean not much amenities. but lets say u have just been bathed with amenities and hospitalities of las vegas and u expect the somewhat same then be ready to pour at least us$400.00+ per night(AND THATS FOUR STAR AT MOST, mostly three star or below (i am serious)). And O ya dont complain how much u had to pay for food, thats expensive too (a liter of water in a convenient store cost as much as US$5) and on top of that every sit in restaurant expect "tips" no less that 10-15 percent, most expect 20% of your entire bill. think before you plan a trip (can i afford that? or should i just be a backpacker but that is no fun in a expensive city like San Fran. I had to write all these crap after reading the loads of rant about how crappy the hotels were (not just on tripadvisor.com pretty much on all travel website). last but not least, what i suggest is, if you are booking a room online and you see two different hotels at the same location and the price difference is "heaven and hell", the hotels are probably of same standard a "heaven" (i doubt this one) and "hell" (for sure). i mean if you choose to pay for "hell" you will get "hell" dont expect any magic like in Vegas. Finally, if you cant afford standard then dont go there, honestly. kindly, A hotelier, San Francisco
Taxi It was great to use a cab from the hotel to our destination. It wasn't far but was a lot less stressful.
