Have stayed here often over many years. The whole idea of a family-owned motel on "motel strip" of Lombard is unique. The rooms are clean, quiet, plenty of amenities, great old tile showers (spotless). A two-block walk to the most understated restaurant in San Francisco (you'll have to ask). That parking is included is an incredible value (along with the neat sewing kit!)

Top Local Tips for San Francisco

Buy a day pass for the trollys/muni to avoid paying for parking for $11 you'll get unlimited rides on the cable cars throughout town and the muni throughout the city. We actually parked at the cablecar museum (free street parking) and rode the cablecar down to fishermans wharf and chinatown. That saved us $20 on parking and gave us the experience we were looking for.

Don't be Afraid to take the Bart Save money and take the BART to/from the airport. Easy to navigate and cheaper than a taxi or bus.
