My family and I were in the middle of a road trip, travelling from the Oregon coast to Anaheim to spend a few days at Disneyland. Thinking that spending a night in San Francisco would be an adventure, I did some internet research on hotels that would accomodate 4 people comfortably, without breaking the bank. I selected the Redwood Inn because of it's rating by other past customers and the free parking. I was a little dismayed that the hotel did not have a website or e-mail address, but because others gave it such a high rating, I decided to give it a try.
The hotel staff were very polite and helpful, but that's where the positive comments end. There's 1 elevator for the building, small and awkwardly located just outside of the office. The rooms were spartan, the sink outside the lavatory stuck in the corner. They charge you $50 deposit and assign your television remote.
The view from the roof observatory was ok, but not the picturesque vision I had hoped for.
