Muni passes are a bargain At the airport one can buy a muni bus and light rail pass for 7 days or 3 days at city information desks in the baggage claim area. The public system is wonderful,clean and quite safe. It is a great way to see the city.

use bart and muni for transportation Bart is a transportation system that for alittle more than $5 will take you to downtown sf. There, , for $1.50, plus a free transfer if needed, you can pick up a bus to your final destination in the city. Travellers can buy muni public transportation passes for 1, 3 or 7 days, they include buses, cable cars etc. Cable cars are $5 one way so the pass is a bargain even just for that experience. Parking is difficult and pricy so leave the car at home and take public transportation. Muni is one of the best transportation systems in the nation and a great way to see the city. At the airport ,on the level where you pick up luggage, you'll find sf info booths. At these info booths you'll be able to buy bus passes and get info on where to go to get on a bart train to the city and get other great sf info.
