My wife and I are teachers from the Kansas City area, and we have stayed at the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf hotel twice in the last four years. The rooms are reasonbly priced and the cleaning staff keeps the rooms in almost perfect condition. Another plus about the Hyatt is the sportsbar 'Kuckles,' which is a great place to wind down after a day of bustling around San Francisco. We have read many travel critics who say to stay away from the Fisherman's Wharf area because it is so touristy. However, we find the Hyatt at the Wharf to be an ideal location for enjoying almost all of the amenities that San Francisco has to offer visitors. The best seafood restaurant, Scoma's, is within walking distance, as well as the departing points for bay cruises. Additionally, the downtown area or SBC park is just a short, inexpensive taxi ride away from the Hyatt. The price, the cleanliness, and the location make the Hyatt at Fisherman's Wharf an excellent choice when considering a hotel for unwinding in the immediate San Francisco area.
