We stayed at this hotel in May this year after getting married in Hawaii. The hotel itself wasn't too bad - the rooms were a good size and were clean and comfortable. the problems started after we took a left turn out of the hotel and after a brief walk we ended up in some sort of gang land (the area changed in approx 5 mins from being quiet to being covered with prostitutes, heroin addicts (believe me I was shown needle scars) and gangs appeared on street corners. we have never felt as intimidated in our entire lives. We are not naive and are relatively street wise but this area was not suitable for holiday makers - particularly honeymooners! I arrived back at the hotel room a short while later, took a deep breath and cried by eyes out. We agreed from then on we would not take a left from the hotel and would travel only in taxis. We were talking to some local girls one night and we explained what happened...they told us never to walk through those parts again because to them...... Read more
