Great way to slim down that fat wallet

I brought my wife and 7 month old son to the Del in March from Boston. SD weather was a welcome relief after a tough winter in New England. We stayed in the older part of the hotel, and enjoyed the ambiance, service, and the great relaxation of Coronado. "Some like it hot" plays on one of the TV channels continuously, and has great vintage views of the Del. Marilyn Monroe too, for that matter. This relaxation comes at a price, though. The hotel clearly makes money at every opportunity. With a young son, and being on eastern standard time, we were up early. You have to wait till around 6:30 for the coffee shop to open. At this price point, complimentary coffee -really nice coffee- would be appropriate. The Sunday brunch is served in a magnificent room. The selection was huge, and the mimosas kept flowing. But be ready for the ~$50/plate charge.
