The Days Inn Mission Bay in San Diego was centrally located and easy to get to. It had comfortable, clean rooms and a nice continental breakfast. We liked the price we got through hotels.com. I would recommend this Days Inn to others.

Very poorly monitored for guests. i.e. drunks found in rooms supposedly vacant.
Poorly staffed (front desk unable to offer assistance required manager).
Breakfast milk sour.
So bad that we found alternative lodging for our 3 day stay.

Top Local Tips for San Diego

Skip Seaworld Seaworld was very expensive to visit and really wasn't worth the money. If you get a chance either go to Legoland or the Zoo. Seaworld cost us about $200 just for the day and that was for three of us in the park (two adults and one five year old child), including parking, admission, and lunch.

best time for beach try to avoid major summer holidays for beach. We like to go the end of July and august for warmest ocean water.

Expensive San Diego is a very expensive city.
