Great staff and rooms
from Often_on_roadgreat hotel in sac
from harrahsA Nice Hotel Stay
from AGALRoom was very clean and quiet. Non-smoking. It has one of those wet bars in which if you lift an item, you will get charged. Has Wireless High Speed Internet, however, you pay $10/day for it. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast and Lunch in their restaurant was good.
All in all, a nice stay.
Nice
from WmacetheaceUnfortunate experience from check-in to check-out.
from A TripAdvisor MemberMy corner room with balcony had cleaning supplies and open soda cans left in it, and makeup on a pillowcase.
The manager offered to move me to a smaller room at a discounted price but I preferred a corner room so stayed after the maid returned to finish what should have been done before I checked in.
The television was old and losing its picture. The volume and picture was going out.
The piercing fire alarm went off at 2am and we had to evacuate. The cause was a faulty fire alarm.
My in-room coffee was only decaf and the maid told me they ran out of regular coffee, which I found hard to believe.
The wireless internet access is slow due to a weak signal and is not billed to your room but through a credit card transaction online.
This hotel is relying on it's proximity to the state capital and does not live up to the reputation of other hotels of it's caliber or price range.
Pleasant Staff is always a plus
from MaryRuthTuscaloosaJust an average Hyatt
from TxTravelProDecent, clean room, good bed and good food presentations in the club lounge.
The hallways were really old looking and the meeting space needed updating.
But it was clean, so older stuff is not as obvious.
They obviously have a good cleaning staff.
The last night of my stay was a Saturday. I had to get up at 4am so I was pretty disappointed that there was a group of frat boys partying it up in the room next door. Loud music and lots of whooping and hollering.
I immediately called security and they called and the music stopped. But I was not satisfied by that, really. I wanted the group to be relocated. I could hear all the plans for the big night. They were planning a big party... had a bar in the room, etc... they were calling people inviting them to come to the room after the bars closed. Uh, right...
So I called security again and told them to move the kids away from me.
I will say that the staff was very, VERY nice about it all.
But long story short, it took 1.25 hour to get it resolved.
Funny part: The security guy was talking to one of the kids in the hallway and I heard him say his father worked at the hotel and he did not want trouble. Right away, I opened the door and just confronted him...
Really cute young guy. I am in the hospitality industry and I just wanted to make him understand that he was making a BAD choice by acting in such a way at his Dad's place of employment. What a nightmare! He was very polite and apologetic.
Anyhoo, I had no other problems.
A good stay otherwise.
Good Staff, too.
Great Hotel for Sacramento Standards
from travel_hopperThe Hyatt is a nice hotel, and probably one of the best in Sacramento. I travel a lot and have stayed in much nicer places all over the world, but this is nice for Sac. The hotel is located directly across the street from state capitol in downtown Sacramento. If you request a capitol view room, you usually receive it. It is also close to the convention center. Rooms are standard, there is nothing spectacular about it, but come with all the basic necessities and are pleasant. Wireless internet is available in the rooms and some of the common areas for a $10 fee. If you don't have a wireless card on your laptop, you can borrow one from the front desk with a $100 deposit.
If you book with your AAA card, you will receive a voucher for free breakfast at their restaurant. Room service offers several options, but the quality and taste leaves something to be desired (I'd only recommend it if you REALLY don't want to go out). But, room service is quick: I always find that they deliver quicker than they promised when ordering. However, if you want to venture out, there are limited options within walking distance around the hotel, but Pyramid brewery and a few others are close by. There is a bar and restaurant in the lobby as well, with a friendly staff and service.
There is a gym adjacent to the parking garage behind the hotel which has your basic machines. Ask the front desk for directions otherwise it is difficult to find since it is not inside the hotel. They also have TVs built into each of the cardio machines so you can watch whatever you want - no competing for the remote! Just be sure to bring headphones or you won't have any sound. Workout towels are provided. There is also a small pool adjacent to the bar.
Despite its "downtown" location, as far as nightlife, there really isn't much close to the hotel. You can walk around the downtown shops or go to a local bar, but it is very much a quiet area. It is Sacramento, what do you expect?
Comfy Feather Bed, Good Customer Service
from DolphinChaserGreat Stay
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe visited the Capitol across the street from the hotel and that was very interesting. I would recommend the Hyatt if you need to come to Sacramento for any reason.
Top Local Tips for Sacramento
Sacramento Railroad Museum You have to check this museum! Lots of trains and a good historical presentation of the railroads in the west. Great for everyone especially train buffs! Located in the Sacramento Old Town area.
Triple A Discount! If you have triple A and you want to eat at the buffet in the restraunt called vines in the Hyatt regency and you are staying in the hotel, ask the front desk about a special coupon the give to people with triple A for two free breakfasts.
Didn't need it. If you stay fairly central like at the Hyatt REgency, you can easily walk to the old town and the shopping mall, even with relatively young children, 10 and 11.
