Top Local Tips for Richmond

Go see the city view from the MARIN HEADLANDS at the north end of the GG bridge Drive north over the Golden Gate bridge and drive into the overlook. Get out if you want, but the best view is not here. Begin heading back to SF, but before crossing the bridge, follow the signs to the Marin Headlands up the hill to the right. Go up at dusk if you can, and see the brindge and city sparkle from this VERY high vantage point. It is a FABULOUS view of the city, bay and bridge. This was not highlighted in any of my tour books regarding SF, (only in Marin County chapter) but it is right at the end of the GG bridge. I am not sure how you would get there by foot. I suppose you'd have to cross the traffic at the north end of the bridge, but this may not be allowed. Check first. You can reach it by bike. It is on the "biking" side of the bridge.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom This place is overated. It seemed worn out. We like Six Flags over Atlanta a lot better.
