Great Hotel if you like Tobacco!

The hotel had a nice lobby; it was downhill after that. The rooms were average cleanliness at best. The thing I will remember the most was getting a "non-smoking" room that absolutely reeked of tobacco smoke. Some investigation led to the finding that the "guest" prior to our arrival was a French Circus actor who stayed there a month (being an entertainer at the circus that was visiting at the Fairplex) and must have smoked like a chimney. The room was gross. In addition, the A/C unit didn't work properly so there was no way to get the odor out of there. It appears when you ask for a "non-smoking" room they just flip the plate on the door before your arrival. P.S. - Lobby restaurant was OK but way overpriced.

Roomy and Comfortable

My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Sheraton Suites Fairplex in Aug 2004 for two nights, prior to checking her into her dorm at Pomona College. Not having stayed in the area before, we picked the Sheraton because it is the only 3 Star hotel in the Pomona/Claremont Area. The location was very convenient to the college. The hotel was undergoing renovations and we did hear pounding and drilling on the lower floors. Our renovated room on the 6th floor was very nice - roomy and comfortable for the three of us. When I reported an overhead light being out and the refrigerator not working, the clerk awarded me additional Starwood points.

Spacious, clever room layout

Very nice room with clever doors to enclose part or open up into one room, or close doors to almost make 4 separate rooms or areas. One of the nicest hotel rooms we've enjoyed in years. Highly recommended. Dining was OK but not outstanding. Service in all area from front desk to restaurant was excellent.
