Top Local Tips for Pacific Grove

Deer Walk through the conference facility around dusk--that's when the deer come out.

Asilomar architecture and amenities Asilomar was originally a YWCA conference center, with buildings designed by Julia Morgan of San Simeon fame. It is worth a visit even if you room elsewhere. The current management group has enhanced the historic information available on the buildings, which are marvelous examples of CA Arts and Crafts Movement. Go to the Lodge for brochures or directions. Asilomar is also a good place for birding and heading out to the coastal walk. The Lodge has a gift shop with snacks and coffee. Since it is a state park, feel free to sit in the magnificent main room by the fireplace and read the paper.

Pacific Grove muni Pacific Grove Municipal is a gorgeous golf course just down the street. The back 9 is along the ocean! what a treat. And yet the green fees are a reasonable $45 at the moment for prime time weekend 18 holes.
