| Horrible service. Don't stay here. |
|
My hotel room was located right next to the elevator shaft. Whenever someone used the elevator, the noise was extremely loud and the vibrations literally made the room shake. I was awoken at 5:00 a.m. by the sound and the noise did not stop for the rest of the morning. After 20 minutes of this racket, I went to the front desk to complain. I asked to be moved
to a different room (which the desk clerk agreed to do). I also asked about receiving a discount on my hotel stay due to the disturbance.
The desk clerk said he was not authorized to give me a discount and that the manager had not yet arrived. However, the desk clerk agreed to pass on a message to the manager. I gave the desk clerk my cell phone number and asked that the manager call me when he arrived later that morning. I also said that I was available at that phone number all day.
Incredibly, the manager never bothered to call me back. After half the day had passed by, I finally called the hotel and asked to speak to the... Read more |

| Great Location |
|
The hotel is situated right on the beach and the lcoation couldn't really be faulted, but...the first room we were given was damp, cold and smelled very musty. It was not on the beach side, but was on the bottom floor and was also quite dark. We complained and were given another room on the same floor, which was better although quite cold still. Generally the hotel facilities were ok.

| An Unexpected Pleasure |
|
In 2004 my wife, our 16 year old daughter and I decided to spend April vacation exploring central California. I had been to the Monterey area on business, remembered the prominent hotel on the beach and so determined to spend our first two nights there, regrouping from the trip before going on to other locations. However, the beach-side room, wonderful service and helpful staff prompted us to lengthen our stay, day after day, until the week had passed. While there we took day trips to San Francisco, Big Sur, Palo Alto, and San Simeon.
All in all it was perhaps the best family vacation we ever had. |
