Perfect stay at the Beverly Hills Residence Inn
from kapjA Home Away From Home
from HueyEsquireThe location is perfect: 5 minutes to Century City, 10 minutes to Westwood, 15-20 minutes to Santa Monica or Venice, and 20 minutes to Downtown.
For those who like shopping (not a personal favorite), you are steps from the heart of the Beverly Hills Shopping District.
There is not a great variety of food in the immediate area, but Factor's Famous Deli is a block East on Pico and it is fabulous, especially if you love authentic Jewish deli food. The rooms feature full kitchens (my room had a refrigerator/freezer with icemaker, a 2 burner electric stove, a microwave, a dishwasher, a sink, and plenty of plates, dishes, cups, glasses, cutlery, and other cooking accessories), so I took advantage of the quaint Jewish market (Pico Glatt Market) directly across the street from Factor's. (Skip the adjacent convenience stores and experience the culture of this neighborhood by checking out this full service, reasonably priced market.)
I've read complaints about the parking fees, but perhaps these folks have not paid to park elsewhere in Los Angeles. At $18 per day, plus tax, the convenience and expedience of the garage and its staff were well worth it. I gladly paid the parking fee and tipped the courteous, friendly valets each time. There is street parking very close to the hotel and the neighborhood appears very safe, so that's an alternative when available.
My room was immaculate. That is very important to me when I travel, so I was not disappointed. Housekeeping was thorough, effective, and almost stealth in their cleaning. Instead of just a "Do Not Disturb" and/or "Please Service" sign, the rooms offer magnets (the doors are metal) that read "Later, Please," "Day Sleeper," and "No Service" to indicate to Housekeeping when, if at all, they should service the room. On several of the days of my stay, I left the room for barely an hour (at different times of day) and returned to find my room serviced in an almost clandestine manner. I was very pleased.
The bed was almost too comfortable (if that is possible). There were plenty of SOFT pillows (I'm a stomach sleeper) and the down comforter was both cozy and light. The bed linens were nice and the towels were soft and plentiful.
The front desk staff was friendly and very helpful. I didn't call upon them much, but when I did, they could not have been more attentive.
I did not indulge in any of the weekday hospitality hours, but I enjoyed the complimentary FULL (not just "continental") breakfast all but one morning. In addition to the typical continental breakfast items one might expect, the breakfast also featured an omelet bar, scrambled eggs, potatoes, french toast, and a wafflemaker with ample pre-poured cups of waffle batter. There was so much to choose from that I could not bring myself to have breakfast anywhere else.
Overall, I was impressed, maybe even shocked, by the Residence Inn Beverly Hills and how much I enjoyed my stay. Friends in Santa Monica and Westwood invite me to crash with them whenever I'm in LA, but this was a much better choice for me. I have, without a doubt, found my home away from home in Los Angeles.
Great Hotel, Great Location
from MichellebellEverything you could want in Beverly Hills
from Marius40The hotel claims to have recently remodeled and I believe it has been. My room (711) was large and clean with all of the usual Residence Inn amenities. I met a guest who has been staying at the hotel for 15 months. He moved to Los Angeles, but after seeing the high rents, decided to go this route and is satisfied.
The hotel offers a lite dinner each night including three kinds of wine and beer. The breakfast selection is the best I have seen including made to order omelettes. The workout room is marginally acceptable with the usual bare basics; i.e. bike, treadmill, universal etc. However, there is a very large indoor hot tub.
According to the hotel staff whom I spoke with, the property is usually close to capacity, and while there were a significant number of guests at breakfast each morning, there was never a wait for anything. By the way, the front desk staff were very accomodating at all times.
The only downside which is completely avoidable is the $18.00 indoor parking. The charge is for self parking or valet. However, the surrounding area is virtually all meter parking which ends at 6:00 p.m. and doesn't begin until 8:00 a.m. the next day. There was plenty of street parking each day within yards of the property and there is absolutely no reason to pay $18.00 unless you are sleeping in late each day.
While the online rates are pricey by some standards, you can easily sleep 4-6 in a room, with all of the available space, and the fact that you can eat two meals there plus the use of a kitchen with all the amenities is hard to beat.
Be aware that if you bid this hotel on Priceline, there is the possibility that you will be upgraded to the Hyatt on Sunset. While I was pleasantly surprised by my stay there, you don't get half of the amenities of the Residence Inn plus you will definitely pay for parking.
Overall, a very nice stay and I would stay here again.
Cheers.
Marius
Nice room, good service
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe stayed one night and found that it was convenient to meet friends on "Restaurant Row" for dinner. We tried a new restaurant called "Bridge" which the group had mixed reviews for.
Overall the service, from the front desk to housekeeping was very friendly. Couple things to note: parking is $18 and their free shuttle service is not always available (they were too busy at the time we wanted to go) so make sure to arrange it ahead of time.
Overall, we're very pleased and would stay again.
Immaculate!

from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat hotel- but parking will kill you
from apkeshgreat staff great stay
from juliana84the room was one of the best we have stayed in with a really comfy bed and lots of pillows, and it was kept very clean every day, the bathroom was an average size and again very clean. we had a kitchen with a fridge, freezer and microwave and a small living area. hotel was a little bit far out but we didnt mind walking or getting taxis to where we wanted to go.
we went to universal studios hollywood one day which was great, we payed extra for the queue hopping pass which was well worth the money, no waiting in long queues all day, dont miss the studio tour it was fab.
it was great to have such a comfy and clean room after a long day at universal and would reccomend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in los angeles.
oh and never saw any homeless people anywhere near the hotel let alone in it!
Top Local Tips for Los Angeles
Universal Studios Get there early. Use the more expensive but very handy parking. Get front of line tickets if you are going at peak time. It made our trip so much better. Lunch times are hell in all the eateries in the park! Very busy and nowhere to sit! Try going out to Universal walk - we wish we had!! You do get very wet on the Jurrasic park ride! Revenge of the Mummy was fab!
Beware of just because a resturaunt in LA is popular dosnt mean its food is worth eating. LA is full of people who will eat where ever a magazine tells them. so beware of where the celebs are eating!
LA Adventure There is nothing better than location, the attractions most likely will be there
